The sound of singing or movement in the clinic room outside of where Castiel is resting doesn’t necessarily bring him back from the dead, but it does help him begin to stir. It had been quiet in there for some time with just the angel’s body resting peacefully in bed. No doubt he’s been made as comfortable as possible, which he’ll appreciate when he can get around to that ( ... )

Castiel's awakening was as distinctive and noticeable to Lollipop's senses as an ember flaring to cherry-red life in the middle of dusty ash. Her hands flew to her mouth in excitement, and she made a very hurried rush to Castiel's room. Behaving much as a child on Christmas morning who has just remembered that people are sleeping, Lollipop immediately hushed her footfalls and took a furtive look at Evelynn. The woman seemed relaxed enough to be asleep.

Lollipop's gaze softened down from unabashed exuberance when she caught the look in Castiel's eyes, and she smiled reassuringly. When she spoke, her voice was quite soft.

"You're safe. You're in the clinic."

Reaching for his shoulder without guile or hesitation, Lollipop gave it a gentle squeeze and nodded.

"Welcome back."

As someone entered the room, the man sat up a little in bed, pushing with the palms of his hands on the mattress. There was a faint wince and a furtive glance around, spotting Lollipop first of course, and then the sleeping Evelynn who also occupied the room. It appears people have been watching over him.

His blue eyes went directly to the blond angel’s and his brow furrowed slightly. “A clinic?” Well, he’s woken up in worse places than this. However, something still didn’t feel quite right. “Thanks.... Are you the nurse?” He asked uncertainly.

Blink.

He was serious.

If Lollipop's heart could have sank and burst all at once, it would have done so at his words, and at the complete lack of recognition in Castiel's eyes. Her hand gave his shoulder a little pat, as much as for her sake as for his, but she gave him a small nod.

"Something like that. You're Jimmy, right?"

A flurry of questions appeared in her mind, all tissue papers in the wake of a speeding train called 'reality'.
