Alch + Elijah = a staccato, mechanical sound and conjures up an image of a robot scrabbling to hold itself together when all its nuts and bolts suddenly start to fall out. Which is just how one feels when discombobulated!

Defenstrate! What a great word, when I hear/read that, I think of the French word "fenêtre" (which I also like), and the root of both the words, the Latin "fenestra", and how I suspect that is related to "vent" but I'm not sure...

I do like the words palimpsest and discombobulate (very hobbity to me) but I meet the word proprioception in my job quite a lot. I like words that make their presence felt, if you see what I mean. Mullion, catharsis, defenestrate -your mouth has to work at it, these words can't just slip out.
