My son says flour with a sell-by date of June 2008 is, in fact, perfectly safe to use.

Agree/ Not agree?

flour, family, food

Hmmm.

I wouldn't use it. I've opened out of date flour before and found livestock within.

I'd use it if it looked ok... but then I'm notorious for ignoring use-by dates.

As long as it's not wriggling I'd probably use it.

If it wriggles - it's in the bin...

Check it.. if it looks ok (uninhabited).. then it's safe to use.

Is it "sell by" or "use by"? Those are 2 very different things. If it's "sell by", I'd say it's OK as long as it hasn't been open & nothing has taken up habitation. If it's "use by", I'd say it's iffy...
