When they'd reached the privacy of Ebony's room, Jay set the clothes down on the bed, and, without waiting to take the bag or the tequila from Ebony, leaned down enough to gently kiss her. Despite her attitude towards Amber earlier, she had been an excellent companion at the market; he'd been wrong to want to leave her behind. For all of her ( Read more... )

Ebony lovingly returned Jay's kiss. This all felt so right, and everything at the moment seemed so uncomplicated. Now was the right time, Ebony thought to herself.

As Jay reached to take his bag from her, Ebony's eyes sparkled and she tossed the bag and tequila on the bed where they landed just next to Jay's new set of clothes.

"What's your hurry?" she asked playfully, thinking when Jay had reached for his bag that he had intended to leave.

She then glided over to the bed, sprawled out on her back, and propped herself up with her elbows. After a second, Ebony motioned to the pile of clothes next to her. "Well, aren't you gonna try them on?"

Jay blushed slightly; he always seemed to forget how very forward Ebony could be. She was propped up and grinning like the cat that caught the canary, and he had the uncomfortable sensation that he was being toyed with. He didn't mind, exactly; she always seemed to do it in a good-natured way, but this was perhaps not the time. "I was thinking I'd wash up a bit, actually," he murmured, unable to hide his smile at her antics. He gathered up the clothes, leaving Trudy's coat spread smoothly across the covers. "What good are civilian clothes with these markings, after all?" He gestured vaguely towards the T he still wore on his forehead.

Ebony had been wanting to give Jay the gift she'd gotten him at the market place after he'd changed. But, she thought with a sigh, she supposed it could wait a little longer. Ebony let out a small chuckle at Jay's gesture, and it amused her to no end to know he thought she had been insinuating something else...

"All right then. But come back soon. It's not polite to keep a lady waiting too long," she gently teased. She just couldn't help keeping up this little game.

"Right," he said, quietly, not entirely liking her chuckle. He was definitely being played.

Jay glanced down at his bag. He hated to leave it in the room with her, knowing what it contained, but it really would look suspicious if he never let it out of his sight. He could trust Ebony for at least a moment, he thought; heading towards the door. After all, the T-gun was at the very bottom of the bag; even if she wanted to see the sector maps, she'd be unlikely to find it.

He gave her a soft smile, and left to change. If he couldn't trust her for even a moment, then what kind of a relationship was this, really?

[OOC: Jay's off to change and visit Amber.]
