Day 10-- Jay wakes early and showers, only to find Ebony on her way out. After her dodgy behavior the night before, he's displeased, but Ebony seems sincere when she says that there's nothing to worry about, and he pushes it aside as best he can. Ved is also gone, presumably getting the supplies with which they'll fix Bray, and Jay spends a good deal of the day feeling as if he's somehow missing something. He helps guard Bray during the day, and is pleased to see both Ebony and Ved back at dinner. Jay is fairly interested in the results of the Tribal Leaders meeting, and asks a few questions about the potential hospital move.
Day 11-- Jay wakes at a reasonable hour, eats breakfast with Ebony and the others, and tries unsuccessfully to figure out what his lover has been up to. He makes amends, more or less, with Ebony, and helps Ved prep for Bray's recovery. He spends forty-five minutes working out to clear his mind, then showers. He's pleased to move into the cloud room with Ebony, and takes the new room as yet another sign that he's being truly welcomed as a member of the Mallrats. Spends a few hours guarding Bray, then enjoys an evening with Ebony and the rest of the Mallrats. Is pleased to discover that the cloud room's bed does not squeak.
Day 12-- Jay wakes a bit later than usual, showers, and then devotes his day entirely to Bray's treatment, though the technical work is done largely by Ved. Jay is suspicious of some of the programs and equipment Ved is using, but so long as the job gets done, he has no complaints. He's pleased to see Bray more or less restored, largely for Amber's sake, and allows himself to relax with Ebony in the evening.
Day 13-- Jay wakes early and showers, feeling productive after the successful treatment of Bray, but has his good mood quickly dashed by Ebony's obvious displeasure at the announcement regarding Ryan's kids. He takes a walk with her, despite the risks, hoping that Ebony will feel better away from the mall. It's a foolish risk to take, and he pays for it-- a kid recognizes him, and begins to start trouble. Jay deals with it as he's always dealt with such things, and tries not to think about the implications of what the kid said. He puts on a cheerful demeanor, which Ebony seems to believe, and goes back to the mall. Checks on Amber and Bray, eats supper, works out (though it doesn't seem to clear his mind this time) and goes to bed. He falls asleep late, and has the same nightmare about Kayla that has haunted him since her death.
Day 14-- Feeling guilty for his involvement with the Technos after the confrontation the day before, Jay wakes extremely early, showers, and then helps out in the hospital. The day passes quickly, as the hospital is busy, and Jay enjoys the small feeling of atonement he gets as he works. The evening is spent with Ebony, who prepares a romantic supper for him, and Jay finds his spirits much improved. The bed in the new room is quite nice, actually, and they put it to good use.
Day 15-- Jay wakes late, and discovers that Ebony is already gone. Concerned, he gets up, showers, and spends the day with the Mallrats. Ebony comes home at a decent hour, and he pushes his concerns aside yet again. Bray seems to be fine, and the hospital seems under control; things are too good to mess up with concerns over Ebony's actions. He eats supper with everyone, works out, showers again, and goes to bed fairly late.
