In Ebony's Room

Jan 24, 2004 14:57

Jay was grateful to find Ebony's room deserted; she was acting strangely, and he didn't feel like dealing with her. What had happened to her? When they had been together before, she had seemed to be softening; he had watched the ice begin to crack, and had seen a glimpse of the caring woman beneath the tough-girl facade. Now, however, Jay was ( Read more... )

Cloe walked down the stairs. So many things were on her mind. She walked around the bottom floor of the mall, stopping when she got to Ebony's room, she saw Jay, shirtless, and doing some push-ups. She cleared her throat, trying to get his attention.

Well, he had focused in clearing his mind, at least; Jay hadn't even heard her come up. He looked up, surprised, at the sound of Cloe clearing her throat, expecting to see Ebony. The sight of the younger girl caught him off-guard, and he blushed faintly to be shirtless in front of a woman he barely knew. "Ah, hello, Cloe."

"Hi Jay." She swallowed, trying to stay calm. "Uh, do you think....we could, um, talk?" The words barely were able to come out of her mouth. She was a bit nervous and wrung her hands in front of her. She took on hand and smoothed her hair out. She switched her weight from side to side. She had to calm down

He got to his feet, dusting his hands off on his pants, and gestured for her to come in. He'd known that they would have to talk eventually, he reminded himself, and it would be good to get it taken care of.

"How are you feeling?" he asked, with a small, concerned smile.

Cloe's eyes shot open upon hearing the door shut. She propped herself up on her elbows. "Hello? Anyone there?" She laid back down, but it took a few minutes for her to even try closing her eyes.

[OOC: Continued from HERE.]

Salene walked inside Ebony's room, that which had been her very own room with Ryan back in the day, it looked different now but it kind of gave her a slight chill, the memories, this was where they'd made that baby, and she felt tears fighting to spring to her eyes, she had to control the drama, she wasn't here to reminisce she was here to talk to Cloe. Salene walked over to the bed and sat at Cloe's feet, "Hey Clo," she called quietly, now wondering why she was sleeping in Ebony's bed, that certainly wouldn't go over well. Was it comforting to her to be where Ryan and Salene used to sleep? Or had she just been that exhausted? Poor little Cloe, like she hadn't been through enough lately and now she was beat up.

Cloe blinked a few times. "Salene? Hi." She tried to smile. At least Salene was alright.

Salene smiled back, she wanted to rest her hand on her leg but she was afraid to hurt her. "Hey Cloe, you feeling ok?" She was worried about her, she felt badly for her, having been called a bad name and then beat up in the process, it was turning into a very bad return home for her, and Salene wished it would all just stop, let her have some peace and quiet for a change.

Jay smiled; Salene's protectiveness suited her well. She seemed a little fidgety, but he chalked that up to concern for Cloe. "I can manage," he reassured her, pulling the covers back. "If you do still have some ibuprofin, though, I think she could use them."

He knelt down beside the bed, and carefully slipped an arm under Cloe. "Put your arms around my neck, all right?" he told her, trying to be comforting as he got a good grip on her. He shifted her a bit so that she rested against his chest, and rose to his feet, making her as comfortable as he could while balancing her weight.

"Upstairs, then?" he asked, leading the way out of Ebony's room.

[OOC: Cloe's been taken to her room.]
