Mouse didn't know what to think. She had hidden from everyone and yet hoped someone would come find her. Of all people Ebony was the first one!!! She said she wanted to talk to her and be her friend. This confused Mouse. What would Ebony have to talk about to her

"Are you looking for Salene too?" Ebony asked approaching Mouse at the door of the office. "I needed her help but I guess I can't find her. What are you here for, Mouse?"
Ebony walked over to Mouse and looked at her softly, "Your such a sweet little girl, and your the only person who can help me. I need your help Mouse, I want people to believe that I want to be good, but no one will. I trust you and only you."

Mouse jumped at the sound of Ebony's voice. "I'm looking for Salene." She told her. "I want to talk to her about everything going on around here." Mouse studied Ebony for a moment. "I'll help you if you help me. I'll trust you if you help me find Salene"

"Come Mouse, Siva and I have patched our differences and will rally anyone we can to find Salene, let's find Siva." Ebony said holding on to Mouse's hand gently. Ebony smiled at the child and was glad that she could be trusted by Mouse, "Don't worry we will find Salene, even if it kills me."

Mouse smiled. Well, if Ebony promised something she usually came through. Maybe not like everyone thought she should or how everyone else may keep that promise, but it was done and sometimes that is what counted.

Mouse's thoughts kept turning in her head. So much had changed since she came to the Mall. PEOPLE had changed. She didn't know what she should do.
