Slipping off to Salene's Room

Mouse had had a long conversation with Ryan. He had pulled her into the cloud room and tried to convince her to stay put. It had a been a long battle, but she finally had agreed. But now things had been quiet for awhile so she peered out. The cafe was getting crowded and she didn't see Salene. She slipped across the hall to Salene's room ( Read more... )

Salene wrestled with nightmares, bad dreams, scary things, frightening things, but mostly a lot of heartbreak all around. She cried a lot in her dreams, fought with various people, Cloe, Patsy, Mouse, Ryan, Lex, and she jumped when something shook her. "What?" she asked, heart racing, eyes flying open. She focused and saw a Mouse there before her, and she tried to breathe, to calm down and stop the blood coursing through her at a fast pace. "Hey," she said in a froggy voice, "What's going on Mouse?"

"You okay?" Mouse asked first. Salene was resting lots. And although she understood that she was sick she was just used to seeing her up and busy all the time.

Salene rested back into the pillows and closed her eyes, "Hmm?" she asked absently, really exhausted, really wanting sleep to come back, peaceful sleep, but her heart was racing, and she was kind of glad to see Mouse. "What's wrong?" she asked suddenly, opening her eyes halfway and looking at Mouse, worry crossing her face. "Everything ok?"

Whoops... Mouse thought it better not to tell her about Bray. Not that she knew too much about what had happened. But she wanted to know something and hoped it didn't upset Salene. "If Amber's back where's Pride? Didn't he come back?"

Salene watched Mouse leave and sat there on the bed, running her fingers over the edge of the hem of the jacket, thinking about everything. She was going to get up and clean up her face, take off this jacket, but Mouse popped back in the doorway with two plates of the casserole and Salene couldn't resist. She gladly took a plate, though she didn't *want* to eat, having food in front of her made her hungry and she couldn't not eat. It smelled good, and she was pleased they'd followed her recipe like she'd asked, she'd have to praise Moon and whomever had helped her with this, offer her a place to stay for as long as she needed it for the help. Salene wasn't well, she could use all of the help she could get around here ( ... )
