A few days ago my nephew had a family of skunks die at the entrance to their driveway. Mama Skunk was hit and killed by a car and she had several babies. They had to leave for work and by the end of the day the babies were missing or dead. Coyotes or hit by cars as well. Nephew found two babies mangled. Awful skunk smell and blood galore and the kids were in the car looking out the windows. I was traumatized just hearing about it but the kids seem to be ok. They live on a big farm and nature being brutal is too common an occurance. They've had a bad history w. keeping dogs alive too, either they come up missing or hit by cars despite having a fence. Nephew said they sadly can pick a fence jumper out of any litter.
