7.1 Earthquake in Christchurch.

Yikes. Apparently people felt this (south island) earthquake all the way up here in the north island. We slept through it, possibly because our town is on the other side of the fault line (?). It looks pretty awful down there, with water supplies contaminated and cell phone towers and major buildings damaged
