but don't tell my heart, my achy breaky heart [Freddie]

[September 17th, 2011]This entire weekend was amusing. While she knew intellectually that some people had to have gotten the short end of the island's most recent stick, she couldn't help but be pleased with her portion of it. Just to be able to hit the mute button on people, for even a little while, was doing wonders for her temper. She was almost ( Read more... )

"Alcohol, barkeep," Freddie said as soon as he'd walked up to her. "As much as you'll let me have before last call."

He had a grin on his face, but it wasn't reaching his eyes. This whole thing with Florence and then the thing with Roger had set him off to the point where he didn't want to be around people. At least not the usual three. Four, now. He didn't want to hear from Prior how it wasn't what it looked like. Not after remembering Florence's own protestations. Hers had been completely off the mark, hadn't they?

"Hello, Gorgeous."

"Hello, Sexy."

She looked up and tilted her shades down, giving Freddie the once-over. There was obviously something wrong, and the alcohol wasn't what he really needed. With a slight sigh, she held up her top as she sat up, reaching back to re-tie the bikini with a certain determination. So much for her day to herself.

"Come on, let Auntie Trixa make it better." She got up, picking up the blanket and her own drink, trusting the Freddie would follow her in.

Freddie's lips twitched. "I'm pretty sure Prior would argue with your means to make it better." And still he followed her in. Flirting with Trixa was second nature. Maybe it had to do with the fact that they'd slept together or that she responded to his flirting in kind and it didn't mean anything. Or at least it didn't mean anything they were going to do anything about.

"How are you surviving whatever the island is doing this week?"

"Freddie, I put the top back on, not completely took it off, he can't argue with that."

Looking over her shoulder she gave him a lazy wink as she headed into her new workroom, intent on finding something good for Freddie. Hell, she'd send him home with a bottle or two if he needed it.

"Pretty damn awesome, actually. You ever used to wish you could shut someone's voice off, make it so you couldn't hear them anymore? I have that. Absinthe, whiskey, gin, scotch or fruity homebrew?" Rapture had been very good to her.
