CRASHKicking the chair didn't help, in fact, with the way her toe throbbed, it had been a pretty shitty idea to begin with but she just didn't care at this point. Looking around her small kitchen, she surveyed the wreckage. Cupboards were opened, contents pushed aside, in some cases removed entirely. Furniture had been ( Read more... )

She'd moved out back, holding the bottle in-between drinks as she considered her next move. There were only a handful of people who could or even would risk it, and none of them were people close to her. They at least knew better. Had to be someone who knew her, but not well. A larger list, to be sure, but one that wouldn't take long to investigate. She just needed to get started.

But a familiar voice stopped her. If it had been any other voice, saying any other thing, she would have ignored it. However, Ishaih was a friend, and if he said he had it... well she knew he wouldn't steal it. It just wasn't him and to her original point, he knew better.

She had to resist the urge to grab at the feather, instead reaching for it slowly, repressing the light tremor that threatened. That feather was the single most precious possession she had. Everything else could burn, everything else could go, but that feather was home.

Cradling it in her fingers, she looked at it, running a finger over the silken edge, perfect despite having lived under her pillow for so long. "Was anything with it? Any clue about who the hell thought this was funny?" Tricksters signed their work, she did hers with red, but humans... humans took no pride. She didn't expect anything, but it was the first question to ask to start down the line.
