Aly leaned back in her chair as she stared at the reports sent through from the Isles.  It had been a long enough day that the words were starting to swim in front of her eyes even when they weren't in code.  She eyed the small pile of coded reports she hadn't gotten to yet and made a face at them.  They'd have to wait for tomorrow ( Read more... )

It'd been a long day of meetings and political arguments and Roy's head had been aching since somewhere before lunch. Sadly enough, it hadn't been a valid enough reason to cancel the meetings. You didn't cancel on the National Assembly after all. Well, he could have but he was a bit too interested in the decisions that were to be made today not to show up. Not even when there was a pretty blonde spy waiting for him at home.

The only thing missing when he opened the door was a heap of tumbling kittens running out to meet him. It crossed his mind that maybe he was too eager to accept Aly's suggestion because he liked finding his house not empty. "Aly?"

"In the study," she called, leaning back in her chair again. "Done for the day?"

"Yes, and if I'm not I don't want to hear about it," he called up. He hung his trench coat on the hanger and moved up the stairs, two steps at a time.

He raised an eyebrow as he entered the study, noticing the pile of letters. "Looks like you're not done yet."
