The flowers Tom got me for my arrival. Cute? ;) He also bought me an orange sapphire necklace in the shape of a heart.

A veeeery nice hotel restaurant we discovered two days before leaving. Excellent service ;) People were moved in order to get us a better table, since the guy at the hotel who recommended the place to us was friends with the manager.

Sameera, our "room boy" (that's what he called himself :D). He kind of represents most of Sri Lanka. Smiles and servile minds...

Cute small elephant. At the Elephant Orphanage on the way to Kandy. It's a nice thing, taking care of elephants (now that machines have taken lots of their "jobs") but they still looked so miserable in that place.

Nuwarah Eliya, where we stayed at an old tea factory now made hotel, with a tea factory connected. We bought lots of very nice tea ^^ And there was tea growing everywhere on the surrounding hills. Getting down off that hill took like 2 hours by car.

Nice French. And Finnish wins? ;)

Kandalama. Suuuuper nice hotel, with monkeys.

That's our balcony.

At Sigriya. Big rock with a temple on the top. The locals still think it's the castle of the king, while scholars have more or less proved it is a buddhist thing.

Big lizard at the irrigation system escavation site. Those were pools. Or something.

These frescoes don't look very buddhist though.

A view from above, while climbing (although not from the top).

Need I mention that there were Buddha statues everywhere? This is in Dambullah.

More Kandalama pics. (Sigriya and Dambullah were just around the corner.) That's part of the HUGE hotel.

Cute boyfriend and statue at Kandalama.

Anuradhapura pool. Now Anuradhapura benefits a lot more attention than I will give it. Loads of very interesting ruins surrounded with a lot of mystery (like HOW on earth did they do it, for example). But ruins on photo are quite boring... Buddhist place though. And Anuradphapura was the capital of Sri Lanka for over 1000 years (don't remember the years), the longest any city has ever been capital of any country.

Hotel garden/pool where we stayed in Anuradhapura.

Going back to Colombo we finally tasted King Coconut. This is how big those things really are. This is after you have drunk the coconut milk though.

This is the whole thing:

Elephant moving!

Tuk tuks in the busy Muslim part of town. On that photo, it looks very non busy though. Normally there was 10 cm to the next vehicle on every side, with pedestrians filling in any gaps.

Cool mosque.

The Hindus are much more freaky than the Buddhist.

Hilton pool. Some sunburns were acquired here.

Some very safe painting of the bulding next to the Hilton...
