The Cradle Robber My Old Man
Jaejoong moved in to Yunho's place on his 21st birthday.
When his much older lover proposed the idea of living together, he had said yes in a heartbeat. Yunho asked him to think it over again.
"You know my background, I'm not as rich as your family nor am I able to provide you with luxury. You've been to my place and it's a lot smaller than yours, I can't afford to rent a condo for us. I can't buy you designer's bags or clothes or take you out all the time. But I can promise you that I'll do my best to make you happy."
As he kissed Yunho, he whispered in his ear, "I wouldn't want anyone else but you."
And here he was, 2 months later... in front of the stove with a cooking book on one hand and a ladle on the other; tears running down his cheeks. Another day without college class, another chance to learn how to make Yunho happy but somehow it only made him feel miserable. The phone rang and he ran to get it.
"Hello..."
"Jaejoong?" His mother. "Are you crying?"
He broke down right there and then. "Mom..."
"What happened? Is it Yunho? What did he do? Are you okay? I know I shouldn't let you li-"
"Mom!" He cut her off and sighed. "I've been trying to cook Yunho's favorite food but I kept ruining it. It's already my 3rd try but it taste like poop and I-" the water gate broke, "What if he hates me because I still can't cook! Help me Mom..." He sobbed through the phone.
"Why you silly boy!" He heard his mother's laughter through the line. "And here I thought that he'd done something wrong to you... my idiot baby..."
"Mooooom..." He whined.
"You're no better than your little brother. Really, sometimes I wonder what he sees in you that he's so smitten, you never even cleaned up your own bedroom unless someone did it for you." She sighed. "Listen, you don't have to push yourself to do things just to please him."
"But I want to!"
"Why? Because you're afraid that he'll leaves you because of your lack of 'domestic' capabilities? You're not a girl Jae-ah, he loves you just the way you are."
"I know...but-" He stopped crying but he's still a bit frustrated. "Mom, I love him so much. I just want to be able to do something for him. And-" his breath hitched. "He looks tired every day, I felt useless for not being able to do anything to make him feel better. He'd been living by himself for 12 years, but now he has me, I want to do something special to him."
He hears his mother chuckled. "Then tell him. Tell him how you feel. I'm sure he'll understand."
Feeling better after the phone call with his mother, he continued his private cooking lesson with a smile on his face.
"Oh Mom, I know he loves me! Otherwise how come he didn't choke on the burnt omelet that I made him this morning."
And his day ended perfectly, with the love of his life finishing a bowl of tofu chigae that he spent the whole day to create.
He felt so proud of himself until Yunho asked him an innocent question.
"You sure there's nothing fell from the roof into the soup? I swore something tasted weird and the tofu looked more like jello."
Yunho slept on the couch.

Sometimes he wondered if he's being too hard on his young partner. He tried his best to keep up with Jaejoong's requests to let loose, but it's really not easy.
His parents were not rich, but they worked hard to put food on the table for him and pay for his tuition. His father died in his sleep on his 16th birthday, his mother followed two years later. And Yunho learned to live by himself ever since.
He never dated, knowing that he wouldn't be able to fulfill a lover's expectations of romance or sweet nothings. He thought he would have to grow old and die on his own. Until he met Kim Jaejoong.
The boy made him happy, gave him courage to start something that he didn't even dream of. He awakened something inside him that longed for a place to belong to. Jaejoong tried hard to please him and that hurts him so much.
"Are they from your Hapkido class or your nephews?"
That's what his friends asked him when they bumped into each other at the cinema on a rare chance to spend time together with Jaejoong, Junsu and their cousins.
It was an awkward situation to explain but he did anyway, and he'd never forget the look on his friends' faces when he introduced them to Jaejoong. He couldn't blame them to think that he's only 17, especially with Junsu's childish fight with Yoochun and Changmin's complained about 'how the popcorn's box is getting smaller'.
Jaejoong glared at his friends and walked away, the boys followed. Changmin didn't forget to shout out, "Come on, old man. I'm starving!"
For that reason, Yunho agreed to go to this club with them even though he didn't drink alcohol and refused to go down the dance floor. He watched the boys dancing, enjoying Jaejoong's laughter and happy face while sipping on his orange juice, the only non-alcoholic drink available. By the way, he only allowed the boys to drink the same thing much to their complaint.
He felt the need to go to the loo and thought it would be safe to leave the boys for a few minutes. As soon as he got out, he found Yoochun and Junsu frantically searching for him. Something went wrong. He asked but they didn't reply and just pulled him to a place where he saw a man around his age was scolding Changmin, Jaejoong speechless beside him.
"Shim Changmin, you're still 18! You're not supposed to be here by yourself! I'm going to report this to school on Monday morning, you understand."
"I told you, Mr. Park, I'm not here by myself! I didn't even drink alcohol and my cousin here is 21 years old!"
Mr. Park turned to look at Jaejoong. This was where his fair complexion didn't help him to get away from trouble at all. "You look barely older than Changmin."
And Jaejoong caught him nearing as he shouted, "We're here with an adult's supervision!"
Mr. Park didn't flinch. "And where is he?"
"Behind you." Mr. Park turned around and saw the other boys hid behind Yunho. "And you are?"
He cleared his throat, "I'm Yunho, Jung Yunho." Mr. Park was still waiting, "and I'm their..." he hesitated.
"Uncle!" Jaejoong quickly latched onto his left hand while Changmin quickly moved to his right. "Yes, this is our Uncle!"
"Jeez, Uncle Yun, you took forever in the bathroom! Please explain to Mr. Park why we're here!" It was Junsu.
"Why we're here?" He's getting confused, he's really sucked at lying but Jaejoong's pleading eyes melted him. He could lie for this one time.
"I'm sorry Mr. Park, I was just happy to see my nephews again. I've been working abroad and just returned after three years, I thought it would be great to relax with them." He gave out his sweetest smile while clenching his fist to keep himself from spitting out the truth. He felt Jaejoong caressed it gently and he eased up.
Mr. Park scowled. "But you know that this is no place for the under aged! What were you thinking?"
"I'm sorry Mr. Park, I got carried away because they said they wanted to dance." He laughed awkwardly. "Actually we were planning to leave soon, it's almost midnight and already past Changmin and Junsu's bedtime." He looked at the boys, "Ready to go home boys? Gotta put you all to bed before your mothers got angry at me."
Yoochun looked like he was about to protest but Junsu quickly put his hand on his mouth. "Yes, Uncle Yun! I'm sleepy, let's go home! Goodbye Mr. Park." He dragged him away, hands flailing trying to break free from the grip.
And the other two criminals were giving Mr. Park their best smile, yawning and pulling Yunho away from the annoyed teacher.
As soon as they were out they all broke into a laughing fit, they almost couldn't stand up if not because Yunho smacked them all lightly in the heads.
"So when you don't like me I'm an old man and when you need me suddenly I'm Uncle Yun?" He shook his head. "Let's go, I'll drive you all home."
"Awwww, Yunho, can't we stay at your place instead?" Changmin plead.
"Yeah, Yunho-hyung, I wanna have a sleepover." Junsu whined.
"It's Saturday night and no one have school tomorrow... come on, let us stay at your place." Yoochun whined.
He was about to open his mouth when Jaejoong spoke sternly, "No! There's no extra room at our place and I promised your mothers that we'll get you home tonight. Get in the car!"
The kids got in without a fuss much to Yunho's surprise. And his young lover slowly approached him and pulled him closer.
"I'm sorry that my brother and cousins had been annoying. I know you slept throughout the movie and humiliated yourself at the bar sipping on glasses of orange juice," He played with Yunho's top button, "But I'm glad that you did that anyway even though you're tired with the training for the upcoming championship. Thank you." He pecked him on the lips and the boys whistled through the car window.
Yunho asked him what he always wanted to ask, "Are you- are you happy with me?" He sighed. "I mean, you saw my friends, they're not as fun as yours and I've let you down many times because I'm- I'm just- I don't even know what I'm saying right now..."
Jaejoong just looked at him without blinking. "Would I stay if I'm not happy with you? You're a good man Yunho... you're a perfect man for me. I can always go to a movie with my cousins, but you can't even sleep at night before my massage. I can always go to a club with my friends, but there'll be no one to welcome you home when you return from a long trip."
He hugged him and put his head on his chest. "I might be young and stupid and knows nothing about cooking that you almost died from choking because of the burnt omelets." Jaejoong looked up into his eyes, "But this boy knows best, that Jung Yunho the Hapkido coach is a lonely man and only this boy is willing to put up with his old fashion way for the rest of his life..."
Yunho felt like crying when suddenly Jaejoong cupped his face and yelled, "Boys, close your eyes!" And Yunho was pulled into a passionate kiss that he found it hard to let go when they were parting for breath, he didn't even know the boys were going ga ga with their faces stuck to the car window.
Jaejoong pulled off and walked to the car, leaving him astounded before he returned to whisper in his ear, "By the way, I'm the only boy that you're supposed to put to bed tonight, Yunho-yah..." Just to emphasized his word, he licked his lips and walked away to get into the passenger's seat.
Yunho still felt like he was dreaming. That was until Jaejoong open his window and shouted, "It's getting late old man!"
He ran and got into the driver's seat, the boys teased him endlessly but he didn't care. Kim Jaejoong loves him and wants to spend the rest of his life with him.
It's the best night of his life. And he couldn't wait to spend more years to grow old with Jaejoong together.
But tonight... he glanced to his right... he had a boy to put to bed. It's not bad being an old man. Only for a Kim Jaejoong.
