IE strikes again

my housemates box was just found to be bugridden (software, not wetware). he's behind the same gateway/firewall we all are. my box is fine. tiamos' box is fine. he had both zonealarm and norton AV installed and operational. tiamos and he both use internet explorer. It's a mad ass strobe. And today I booked avenue to use it in :)

IE just can't be secured, even with the SP2 mods. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2004/09/02/winxpsp2_security_review/ is a great look into the new configurations and lack of completeness. IE is fundamentally flawed, save yourself major headaches and refuse to support those who use it.

Norton AV causes more problems than it prevents. The stupid POS lets viruses in, then locks you off the Internet. SO ANNOYING.
