"Fun for you" is not only a conceivable benefit, but a highly laudable one. And, really, ¿what's so bad about doing 'fun' things? Perhaps it's the label: "fun" has become synonomous with frivolous and childish and methinks that's a bad rap. Often the most refined, interesting, and quality products and activities in life are fun - I find it hard to invest my mind when I'm not enjoying myself. I have a serious problem with needing to feel productive at all times. Like, I have oddly intense feelings of guilt if I do things that are just "fun", especially if they're just fun for me, rather than providing some benefit to my kids or community, etc. You are correct that fun is in fact very important- that every part of life is better when it's enjoyable. But I am still learning how to not be a jerk to myself.
