are you currently in college? i'm learning a lot of universities have triathlon teams and that might be something to look into.
otherwise, my fiance showed me this. it's a couch-to-tri fitness 8-week fitness program. he followed this last year when he started out and i've been using it this year. you can modify it, of course, to your current proficiency. if you're a runner, you can boost the running portions to what you're more comfortable with at the beginning and then increase the intensity from there. it's a really helpful set of guidelines and it explains how the increase intensities matter in the whole scope of training.
Yes, I'd second @meadowood recommendations. If you can avoid expensive training groups. They are a self fulfilling prophecy and its way too easy to get carried away with training and racing. One of the key things at your age is to enjoy life and to get on with college or work, triathlon will always be there.
On the other hand, if you have the aspiration and ability to go pro, then you really need to start working with a coach. Local clubs will be a great source of information on coaches, from novice, level-1 coaches, to level-3 experts. Good luck
not trying to go pro haha im definitely not good enough for that but i keep hearing about this beginner triathlon site so im definitely checking that out thank you!!
ive been doing a bunch of block things lately like swim and run, swim and bike, bike and run
my only issue is that i cant seem to be able to build up any swimming endurance! i have to do 100m and stop and then again and do that about 10 times - is this one of those things that just take time???
