Room 509 to the 616 and back again, Saturday afternoon

Nov 19, 2011 14:00

Raven hadn't been feeling well for the past few days, which was extremely unusual for her. She'd even missed classes that week so she could stay to her room and rest, trying to figure out why she was so tired. Her emotions had been running very high, she reasoned, so that could very well be the source of feeling drained.

Karla was glad Raven had called, actually. She'd been wanting to talk to her friend about Jono--she'd offered him her assistance, even just as a friendly ear to listen to and was just kind of easing back, letting him set the pace. But she was pretty sure that he needed something more than just that--and was almost as certain that she wasn't the person he needed that from.

"Kiss kiss," she called, poking her head into Raven's room. "You need my help?"

"Hello, Karla," Raven said warmly, sitting up and rising from where she'd been lying on her bed. "Yes, I do, if you are able and willing. There is something I wish to do, but I do not wish to do it alone. I do not think it should be dangerous, just...uncomfortable."

Karla raised her eyebrows up and came inside, shutting the door behind her. She quirked a small grin at her friend, feigning a humor she didn't really feel. "I always knew this day would come," she said. "I just assumed you'd want the threesome for Jono's birthday or something."

Dammit, Karla, when you said things as a joke but didn't feel them that way, it confused Raven's empathic radar. Her eyes widened. "That is not what I wished to ask you," she said. "I did not know you were waiting for such a request."

After she and Karla were done talking and were ready to go, Raven teleported them both to Jono's world, just outside the X-Men's mansion. For some reason it took more conscious effort for her to cross dimensions, and she felt lightheaded and dizzy once they appeared. She blamed it on feeling so tired and pushed it from her mind; there were more important things to focus on.

Like the giant robots standing around the mansion. Raven looked up with not a small amount of alarm. "Those were not here the last time we were," she said.

"Whoa, you okay?" Karla asked, feeling Raven wobbling a little on her arm. Not that she was feeling all that great, either. Teleporting was never easy on her stomach, but this trip had been worse than usual. Interdimensional turbulence?

Though a moment of queasiness and concern for Raven weren't enough to keep her attention away from the robots. "I'm not liking the look of them," she said, a shield sparkling to life around the both of them. "I've got a bad feeling about this."

She'd pay her trademark fee to the Skywalkers later.

"I am fine," Raven assured her. "I have just been tired." Something about the netherverse seemed off, however, but she didn't want to voice that concern yet. It might have just been her imagination, but it seemed...paler as they'd passed through, the purples and reds and blues not as vivid as they had been.

She did cling to Karla, though, and not just for the shield. "As do I," she said, looking around and spotting the tents and the new wall around the property. "I am not sensing malice, however." Not that she could sense anything from the robots.

"We should find someone who might know us, so they know we are not a threat," she said.

Speak of the devil, get a Leech, instead. After all, life was boring after a while in the tent city that had been established for the 198 in the wake of M-Day. Sure, there had been some excitement a few weeks back, and Leech had been, unfortunately, in the thick of it. But if there was one thing Leech could do well, it was persevere!

It was just that, without Artie around and after what had happened to Mr. M, Leech was finding perseverance to be a pretty lonely hobby, these days.

And so, when he spotted a familiar face standing and looking lost on the grounds to Xavier's, naturally he was going to run over to say hello.

"Miss Jono's Girlfriend! Leech not see you since forever!"

He had a good memory for nice people.
