So I have a brand new friend sleeping in my house.
He's about 3 weeks old and unless people suggest otherwise his name will be Snakey McSnakepants.

I think you should call him "Daddy" , "Cherry", possibly "Popper" or IMHO of greatness, connect them all to pay homage to "Here Comes to Snake" by the Cherry Poppin' Daddies.

I also think plain "Pants" would be fine. There's just too many great, punny, suggestive things that come to mind when one says "Snake".
