30 hits him wrong. Comes on too fast and leaves him wondering where it all went.
Sam's gone when he wakes up so the whole morning is self pity. He didn't keep up with anyone from high school but he's sure they're all married by now, with houses and kids and jobs and lives.

What he really, really wants for his birthday is to get laid.
What he's pretty sure he's going to get is a couple of CDs and maybe a new starter for the Impala.
He'll take it.

Bobby offers him his flask before either of them say as much as good morning. He takes a long swig and passes it back. He was going to call it the breakfast of champions but he stops to think if he's too old for that sort of thing now and the moment passes.

Sam comes back around noon with a bag of greasy burgers and fries. The fries are 50/50 crispy/soggy and Dean thinks that if things just stayed like this forever that would be just fine.
But what he says is "I"m going out tonight," pauses for a beat and looks at Sam, "you wanna come?"
Sam looks up and Dean sees something fall over his face. "No, I think I'll just hang out here."
"Suit yourself."
Maybe he will get laid tonight.

The waitress has a paw print tattooed on each of her breasts, half peaking out from either side of her black v-neck.
He compliments her lovely artwork and slips in oh-so-smoothly that it's his birthday and he doesn't know anyone in town.
She must have said her name at some point but he's forgotten it by the time they get to her apartment. So he calls her 'baby' and she calls him 'Dan'. She strips and puts on music like it's a ritual and he almost leaves.
Afterwards she whispers "Happy birthday" to him and lights up a cigarette right there in bed. He smokes one with her for the hell of it.

When he gets back that night there's a cake sitting on Bobby's table and a card tucked underneath the plate. He dips a finger into the side and tastes the icing, knows it's homemade because Sam can be such a girl like that.
He looks up again and there's Sam in the doorway, smiling. "I was going to put candles on it, but I didn't want to burn the place down. 30... man, that's a lot of fire."
It takes most of his self control not to dive across the room and hug his brother. He says "Shut up bitch," but he smiles.
This is close enough to right.
