I think I must have been inspired by your and Kyle's last trip to Wyoming, because I have finally built up the gumption to visit my home town of Butte, Montana after 8 years of being away. Ethan and I are going out early next month.
She doesn't handle heat very well, so I'm guessing that's part of it. She and her mother passed through Casper on the way to North Dakota last summer and decided the area was too hot to be fit for habitation.
My Master Plan (tm) is to visit Yellowstone with her, and make a side trip to Riverton and Thermopolis for the upper Wind River canyon, hot springs and the fossils. I'm thinking late spring or early fall - there's a bigger chance of snow in the passes, but it's cooler.
As you can see from my winter coat, mid-September is significantly cooler in Northern Wyoming than July/August... and when we were there in May two years ago, it snowed (not much, but still... snow.) So avoiding the two months of dry, brutal heat can bring other issues, as you know. I hope it works out for you; sounds like a great MP! I love it when other people love Wyoming ;)
