So... I read Rebecca, and I read it very quickly, mostly because I found it very hard to put down. (It's... like Jane Eyre, only better, and I'm not going to get into it here because I'll start rambling about intertextuality and ambiguity and possibly William Empson.)

Naturally, this means I have to fantasy-cast it.

Yeah, Mrs de Winter was the most difficult... there aren't that many mousy-looking actresses around, but then I remembered Lacey on Caprica and *bam* there she was.

I had never really thought about the rest of the cast only Maxim (Jean Dujardin in my ideal cast, swoon) and of course I would be Mrs De Winter :P But Tom Hardy as Jack Favell would actually be great!! Maybe Chris Pine would be good too- he is good at the sleaziness! I love Miranda and I love Rebecca Hall!
