Why do people bother to ask certain questions?
"You know what? . ."
[walks over to the window]
". . . It's getting a little warm in here. I think I'm going to lower these."
[Begins lowering the blinds. Finishes lowering the blinds.]
"Would that bother you?"

It's like that thing about bad spirits... never invoke what you can't (or won't) banish.

Or hit you for it. That happened to me once, even though the person asking the touchy, leading question insisted that she wanted my honest opinion.

I refuse to apologise for my answers anymore, and when someone craps on me for an answer, I point out to them that they bloody asked for it. Sometims I refuse to answer, depending on the situation, and tell them WHY I'm refusing.
Sometimes I get the feeling that some people ask leading/touchy questions, so they can get an answer to be upset about, to give them some sort of excuse to be shitty, feel shitty, or get angry.
