Well, I decided to steam some kale for dinner because I've heard it's extremely good for you. Conclusion: it's pretty gross to eat on its own. Not as bad as belgian endives though. My mom made those once and they were so bitter we all wanted to hurl. Kale IS slightly bitter though it certainly was a good idea to add sea salt and olive oil to it ( Read more... ) -

The weather is SO perfect today. It was a perfect amount of warm, not too much humidity (yet not too dry! hahaha as if that would ever happen here anyway). There were some clouds so if it started to feel hot there would be a small interval of shade. There was/is a nice cool fresh breeze too. I've been madly reading the last Harry Potter book this evening. It's absolutely amazing and action-packed and sad and funny and everything you can imagine. I'm getting pretty close to the end but now I'm wondering if I should leave the rest for tomorrow. I don't want it to be over and then have to go to bed. -

I'm a bit unsettled right now. Not necessarily in a horrible way, though. I dreamt that I was a little kid again. Of course, like most dreams the details are quickly fading away, and if I tried to write down what happened it would be nonsense since dreams often are...in any case I was a toddler and in the care of my old babysitter. Fantasia Festival
The festival started tonight, and I went to go see Tekkon Kinkreet at the Hall theater. The drawing/modeling was superb, and so detailed that I would love to just pause the film and look at every minute detail of the city. Why are stores closed today? Tomorrow is the holiday, not today. I'm a little pissed off because I was hoping to go look at dress patterns and finally go to Lush to get some face cream. No such luck. I also figured if I got a pattern and some fabric it would give me something fun to do on my day off. Heh. I think I get angry a little too ( Read more... ) -
