I didn't get the birth I wanted either for many of the same reasons as you. And I was equally surprised to have a girl when I was sure it was a boy! But I'm glad that it all turned out well and you've got your baby home.
I was just thinking about you today and wondering how it was going over in Babyland!
My daughter's name (Melanie) was a compromise between her father and I too. I didn't truly love it until I got to know her and she became her own name.
