Rating: G
Warnings/Spoilers: none
Notes: Crossover

He stared, transfixed by those words.  As they rose up, suffocating him and blocking off any means of escape.  Towering over him in brightly painted letters; oppressing him with sunshine happiness.  Magic.  Old stories of damsels and heroes.  Majestic creatures that once stood mighty and enthralling, now ash and dirt.  The power to harness elements and hold life in your in hands, crushing it if you please.  Its been reduced to nothing more than a parlor trick used to entertain.

Do you believe in magic?

Yes, he believed in it or more he believed in what it used to be.  What he used to be.  Magic had been the blood running through his veins.  It was the air he’d breathed.  A piece of his soul.  An extra limb to his body.  He was born of magic, is magic.  He remembered days when magic was strong, days where he was respected, admired, envied and feared for the power he had.  Days filled with adventure, enemies, romance and betrayal.

Do you believe in magic?

He no longer believed it could keep him safe.  Magic was weak.  Where it once took a stray thought to launch a tea cup across a room, now took strenuous amounts of concentration.  He felt useless in this everyday life.  Even though he’d been alive for hundreds of years he felt like a child.  Young and naïve to the ways of the world.  This new age with no need for magic was clearly not for him.  Yet there was no way he could die.  No way could he leave him here to wake alone.

“Emrys!” a voice shouted behind him, breaking the trance.  He glanced over his shoulder.  There was a man, head of wild brown hair poking out of a blue police box, grinning wildly at him.  “Let’s go!”  He can’t help but take one more glance at the impending words.  No, he doesn’t believe in magic anymore.  He has something better.  A different magic, that will keep him alive as the old magic continues to die.  Allowing him to visit different eras and worlds he might have never been able to otherwise.

All awhile keeping an eye out for his king, his Once and Future Love.
