1) I officially feel like a cheesy straight edge kid. I bought Kool Aid yesterday. I have since drank an entire pitcher of black cherry. That's a lot of sugar. :-/ I should start making it with Splenda

It's eggplant, so it SHOULD be a deep purple, but this stuff is more of a deep red. It's supposed to be a topcoat over black, though, so I guess it evens out. Boys will be boys, hiding in estrogens and wearing aubergine dreams.
To be honest, I don't know why I've been avoiding caffeine. I guess it's a number of things. 1: I don't like how it makes me feel when I drink too much. 2: That's the biggest thing I get shit for when I say I'm straight edge. People ask if I drink caffeine, and though I never drank it much anyway, I couldn't rightfully say no. 3: There's really no reason for me to drink it.
Hmm... New Mexico doesn't really have an accent (or at least, ours is the most intelligible accent of anywhere in the US) but I never thought about it...
I can kinda hear it, now you mention it. Very interesting.
But yeah, they were so chill, and thought it was so awesome we drove from NM for the show. haha And damn, they were awesome on stage. Definitely one of the best bands I've ever seen. And probably THE best hardcore band. I really want to see them at my favorite local venue, though, without a barrier. That'd be about 10 times better. The barrier just makes things feel so different.
there was a place in pittsburgh that they used to play all the time [club laga] and there wasn't a barrier there.
i'll never forget when i saw them open for the juliana theory because my roommate and i forced our way to the front of the stage and she swears pj was having "show sex" with her.
...i personally think she's seen bring it on! one too many times and/or wanted to make herself feel important. [no, i didn't get along with my roommate.]
I remember when I heard Club Laga was closing down. I was pretty bummed, even though I'd never been to Pittsburgh, because it just felt like a part of the band, ya know? I always heard about that place, and I never got to go. On that note, I wish I could go to NYC and see a show at CBGB's.
But yeah, people will always want to feel like a member of the band is making a pass at them. These chicks at Vendetta Red last night were talking, and one of them said (about one of their guitarists), "I want to rape him tonight." That was awkward. Then they kept telling the guys, "Rock out with your cock out! Hang out with your wang out. Jam out with your clam out!"
So fucking annoying. Those girls are gonna become groupies someday. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. I feel bad for them.
i went to a hardcore show tonight. we didn't get x's though. a few people were x'd up though. this guy i know, brad, had those hulk gloves things (the giant green fists) and he took marker and drew giant x's on them. okay no point to that story, but whatever.
Yeah, the people here don't tend to give you X's for reentry at hardcore shows, because they know some kids would get annoyed by it. So it's either random little drawings, O's with slashes through them (or something else like that), or handstamps, depending on where the show is and who's working the door. Mmm, Kool Aid.
The can says simply "Mountain Dew X" on it. ...ooh straight edge Mountain Dew! haha But yeah, I guess we'll see if it hits the market or not, depending on how well the market testing goes. I don't know if they'll call it the same thing if they do end up selling it, but apparently they're trying to market it to gamers.

I looked it up when I was reading the book.
So normally you'd think that's a dark purple...
This stuff is a deep red, almost a red violet.
