I don't drink with straws because it keeps too many of the bubbles. I actually prefer my soda slightly flat.

Honestly, I think it's more a New York thing. First time I was handed a straw when I bought a can of soda was in the city.

I don't use straws except for things like milkshakes or other drinks with lids, and certainly won't use them to drink from a can, but then I'm as much a Midwesterner as an East-Coaster. :)
