Title: La Douce Deni [Epilogue]
Pairing: OnHo (Onew and Minho)
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Minho is a college freshman and has a crush on a junior named Onew. What happens when the usually popular jock asks the people-phobic nerd Onew out on date?
A/N: IT'S DONE.

“Good morning” Minho hummed to the warm figure who was clinging to him.
They'd fallen asleep on the couch, Onew tucked against the headboard
and Minho's legs and arms intertwined so he didn't fall off. He
placed sweet kisses on his nerds nose. He smiled wider when said nerd
grumbled and slightly woke up.

“You're annoying. I'm sleeping. Be quiet.” a low rumble told him.

“I love you.” Minho replied lovingly and continued to kiss his nerd's
face.

“That's great. Now shut up.” Onew growled and went as far to turn his body
over so Minho was met with his back. No matter, Minho spooned his
nerd instead, but respected his wishes and stayed quiet.

So this was what Onew was like in the morning he thought, a very grumpy and
bitchy old man...he found himself loving the idea of being able to
wake up to this every morning.

It had been shaky at first, but they had gotten through it.

The morning after their make up and snuggling on the couch, Key had
attempted to strangle Minho. The couple had fully woken up right
after Jonghyun and Key had returned from the diva's dorm. Key had
seen the picture of Onew tucked under Minho's chin and began snarly
like a maniac, Jonghyun had restrained him long enough for Onew to
explain that things were okay now.

It took Key about a week to come around and trust Onew to trust Minho.

It was shaky the rest of that year because of Minho's hectic schedule. With
his classes and work and soccer practice and his stupid recycle club
he barely had any time to catch meals with his nerd. He'd ended up
quitting the club, because really he'd much rather see Onew
concentrate spinning spaghetti and receiving bruises from attempted
games of footsies than try to save the earth. Weird logic, but
whatever and oh well.

When Onew had graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History, it had become
a little more hard. Onew had found a job editing all of those
scholarly journals he loved to read so much, and his work was
demanding. During Minho's junior year he had found an internship that
he was barely able to fit in with his class schedule and his soccer.
He had been improving in his athletic abilities and had ended up
being the first string for his team.

But somehow they found time, when Onew wasn't stuck in his editing office
and Minho wasn't either running across a field or getting coffee for
his boss. Somehow they found time to sit down and watch one of Onew's
many dramas, or Minho taught Onew some soccer moves that his nerd
completely failed at, or they'd go on a date to the movies and some
dinner.

The night of Minho's graduation, Onew was finally ready to go all the way
with Minho.

It had been romantic in its own way. Granted he'd had to bribe Kyuhyun to
get out and stay out of their dorm for the whole night with his
money, and spent a bit to get some cheesy candles. It had been worth
it when Onew had walked in to his room and burst in a fit of laughter
at how overly cheesy Minho was. And yes, he'd had some mood-making
music on, which he called baby-making music...Onew called it sappy
crap with a beat behind it.

Minho quickly noted how it was different from his first time with Taemin.
With Taemin he had like the younger boy, and was horny. Simple as
that.

With Onew...it was like everything was in slow motion, at a stand still,
moving too fast. They didn't say much, save for their grunts and
moans of their names, but each movement spoke for them. He was gentle
with Onew, wanting nothing for himself and only wishing to please
that beautiful body beneath him. He put all his effort in to making
sure Onew's body was beyond satisfied before he worried about
himself. And when that time came Onew seemed eager enough to please
his boyfriend.

And when they climaxed together, Minho knew then that this was what love felt
like.

To be connected to someone, to be apart of them and they apart of you.

Because there was nothing like making love. Really making love. Having sex
with someone you love, and who loves you back...there was something
so intimate and euphoric about it that Minho had stared down at Onew
for the longest time after they were done.

With his body shining and his breathes labored he stared down at his lover who
was panting and equally staring back. Like they wished time would
stop, just for a moment, so they could take this moment in.

Onew was really going to be apart of his life forever, he realized.

And of course, people who were going to be apart of his life forever, needed
to meet his family.

They had officially been dating for over three years, and the whole time Onew
had avoided meeting Minho's family.

He'd attempted to trick him in to it a couple of times, like his sophomore
year during Thanksgiving. After having dinner with his parents he had
planned to head over to Key's house to pick Onew up and take him out
for a date. And just as Onew had gotten in to his boyfriend's new
car, Minho claimed he'd forgotten his wallet and needed to go back to
his house real quick to get it.

Onew had jumped out of the car faster than he could come up with a sarcastic
remark.

He'd tried to force him to go...like shoved him in the car and locked the
doors, Onew complaining and threatening to call his cousin the whole
way. And then when they'd arrived at Minho's house, Onew always
tricked him and either took the keys and locked himself inside, or
took the key and stole Minho's car to get away.

Basically it had been a difficult process. This was because for the most part
Onew's people-phobia was still intact. Whenever Minho had gone to
pick up Onew from work, he'd find his nerd tucked away in the corner
of an office. And only Onew's boss seemed to actually know he
existed.

So therefore Onew didn't want to meet new people. Minho was a bit
insulted at first, asking how Onew could just push meeting his family
aside. But they'd worked it out, Onew needed time, so Minho gave
it...and the weekend after their first time sleeping together, Minho
decided he'd given enough time.

He'd sat Onew down and told him that they were spending the weekend at his
house, with his parents, his brother, and his brother's fiance. It
was happening, he couldn't put it off anymore.

Onew had demanded fruit to eat, but had agreed.

So there they were, in Minho's car (his grandfather had helped him get it his
sophomore year) driving down his street.

He tried not to laugh at his nerd, who was tense in the passenger seat and
staring ahead with dread.

“Make sure you talk to my parents, you can't ignore them like you do
everyone else in the world.” Minho teased as his car pulled up next
to the place he called home. He turned to face his boyfriend, who was
still frozen in fear.

“Jinki?” he called affectionately, and his nerd snapped out of his trance and
met Minho's gaze. How precious his boyfriend looked when he was
petrified and nervous.

“You'll be fine.” he assured the motionless form that was staring at him still.

“What if they don't like me?” Onew worried, his eyes widening in fright
at the thought. Minho couldn't help but snort a laugh at the
ridiculous question. He smiled cheesily as Onew glared because
obviously he was serious about that question.

“Do you trust me?” Minho asked, and enjoyed Onew rolling his eyes at him.

“No Minho. I don't trust you. I totally don't trust you. Because you
know, I've been in a relationship with you for about three years, no
way I don't trust you.” Onew's tone completely dry and lacking
emotion. Minho chuckled,

“Good, then trust me when I say you'll be fine, my parents will love you.
Okay?” he patted his boyfriend's shoulder and got out of the car.
He had to literally drag Onew up the pathway, and fight him when he
reached to knock and a hand swatted it to stop.

So he'd opted for screaming as loud as he could, “Mom! Dad! Hyung! We're
here!” which had caused Onew to freeze in panic before beating his
boyfriend with fury, calling him an idiot, stupid, asshole.

The door flew open, and there stood a Donghae, a little breathless, with a
huge grin on his face.

His grin grew wider when he saw the position the couple was in; Minho's arms
up to block his face, and Onew gripping his shoulder and hand raised
to hit him again.

“Well you'll fit in just fine.” Donghae laughed and didn't hesitate to
snatch Onew in to an unforgiving hug. Minho could've saved his
boyfriend, he could have told his older brother to ease up and
remember Onew had a bubble of discomfort...but he chose not too.

Donghae didn't stop suffocating Onew until he heard his father asking who was
at the door. Donghae let go of a wide-eyed Onew and turned around
like a five year old and took off in to the house screaming at the
top of his lungs, “DADDY THEY'RE HERE!”

Onew trembled and looked over to Minho for some kind of answer to some
unspoken question.

“Get used to it. It hasn't even really begun, try Christmas nerd, when
there's snow involved.” he walked in to the doorway and pulled his
still stunned boyfriend with him.

It was just like he had imagined, his father giving Onew a firm handshake
and asking him to not mind Minho's senselessness sometimes, his
step-mother smothering him in kisses and hugs and cooing about how
cute he was how precious his face was, and of course his brother
immediately tell Onew that anything Minho had said about him was not
true.

Dinner was ready, and so they all took a seat as Minho's step-mother served
the food. Onew sat right next Minho, across from Donghae and his
fiance, his father sat at the head of the table to Onew's right, and
his step-mother to Minho's left. She had roasted a large chicken and
made sweet potatoes and a vegetable melody. He tried not to snicker
at Onew's drooling mouth.

The meal started off easy, the conversations pleasant. Onew actually answered
his parent's questions with a small smile. He was surprised that his
nerd actually thought his father was funny, laughing wholeheartedly
at his jokes with a wide smile. Minho had glanced up when Donghae had
kicked him from under the table. His brother had motioned to Onew,
then to his smile, then given him a thumbs up with a goofy smirk. His
chest had swelled with pride at that gesture. Of course Onew's smile
was the best, how couldn't it be?

“If you guys ever break up, just know that you're welcome here anytime.”
his step-mother assured in a very serious voice. Everyone looked at
her with confused stares.

“We'll just give you Minho's room.” she finished with a gentle smile.

“Excuse me, why would you kick me out?” Minho asked her incredulously. He
could hear his brother and his fiance laughing together.

“Well if you two break up, the only reason would be that you wronged him.
Obviously.” she shrugged like it was the most obvious thing in the
world.

“And therefore you kick me out? And let him stay with you?” he almost
couldn't laugh. Onew cut in then with a snide remark of his own.

“Minho, you didn't realize? I'm more important than you now...” he couldn't
help but gently smack his boyfriend's head. Which earned him a hard
smack from both his parents and his brother.

“Don't mess with my future brother! What's wrong with you?” Donghae
scolded him. Well, he couldn't hate his family for loving Onew. He
was kind of amazing. When dinner finished, Onew gladly helped his
step-mother and Donghae's fiance in the kitchen to clean up. Minho
wanted to pull him out of there, he could already hear his
step-mother chatting about Minho's awkward adolescent years she'd
witnessed. But his father and brother had yanked him and told the
'ladies of the house' that they would be heading to the store for a
quick second.

On the walk his father had thoroughly questioned him; was he happy with
Onew? Was this the same one he had been talking about since three
years back? Did he plan on marrying this one? Did he know the
responsibilities of marriage? Was he ready to stay by Onew's side the
rest of his life? Minho wasn't aloud to call it quits over pitiful
stuff like falling out of love. Not his son, his son was apart of his
family and they stuck things out till the end.

Basically, unless Onew died, Minho was forbidden to ever leave him.

“You understand me?” his father huffed as they trio finally made their
way in to the mini-mart.

“I don't plan on leaving him.” Minho chuckled at his father's antics.
His brother patted his shoulder in support as they walked over to the
wine and beer aisle.

“What'll it be? Some wine? Some whiskey? How about some soju?” his father
pointed at the bottles lined up nicely. Minho pouted, because he
literally hadn't had a serious drink in a fucking long time.

“Um...I don't really drink anymore...” he started. Both his brother and his
father stared at him in disbelief. His brother because he probably
hadn't taken Minho seriously when the younger had said he was
quitting all drinking habits for the sake of his boyfriend. His
father was staring at him because...well...he knew his son. His son
drank very much like he did. And now that Minho was over the drinking
age, he thought surely he would finally sit down to have a good toast
with his old man...but then again...oh well.

“You don't drink?” his dad repeated. Minho shook his head. Donghae made
a silent 'O' with his face. And the two quietly turned away from the
youngest to pick out what they wanted. He sighed and walked over to
pick out some apple cider he knew his boyfriend would enjoy instead.

As they made their way back with their bags of liquor Donghae brought up
things that would have made him sad and empty inside, but only made
him smile.

“Mom would have loved him.” his brother murmured as the trio walked down
their street.

“Oh yeah, she would have gotten a kick out of teasing him.” his father
laughed. His sons laughed with him, eased and relaxed.

“I see what you meant though, by the smile thing. He has a brilliant
smile...not as great as Hyukjae's but...quite good.” Donghae
proposed. Minho could only smile and agree. Of course to Donghae his
fiance's smile would be better. The pretty brunette had a much more
gummier smile than his nerd, but pretty none the less. It all had to
do with the way it made the boys feel.

“So when am I getting a grandchild?” his father teased.

“Ya! I haven't even married him yet!” Donghae fake hit his father's
shoulder.

“I don't know hyung, you're getting kind of old, speed up the process
will you?” Minho joined in. Although he received a real slap to the
head. They laughed it off and finally arrived home.

“You can drink if you want Minho...” Onew whispered in to his ear. Minho
stared at his nerd in utter shock. They were all seated in the living
room, playing a small game of charades. It was Donghae who was making
a fool out of himself at the moment, chugging down his drink and then
trying to act out a movie title of some sort. He and his boyfriend
were together on the loveseat, Onew partially in his lap.

“What?” Minho blurted back in a loud whisper. Onew leaned in closer to get
the message in his ear.

“You can drink if you want to. I don't mind.” his nerd said slowly and
deliberately. Minho continued to stare at him in confusion.

“I thought...you don't like it when I drink. I don't understand...” he
sputtered out. Onew's gentle smile made him a little more anxious. He
really didn't understand this.

“I don't like it when you're drunk. There's a big difference Minho.
Plus, you haven't seen your father for a long time, you should have a
drink with him.” Onew played with a strand of Minho's hair,
twirling it in between his fingers.

“It's fine, he doesn't mind. I just wont drink.” Minho answered and
gently patted Onew's rear with a smile. He was surprised to see Onew
roll his eyes at him.

“Just drink some damn alcohol Minho I know its killing you. That's your
favorite wine.” Onew muttered. Minho didn't do so. He sat there and
continued to try and guess what movie his brother was acting out.
Onew was taken aback. He thought for sure Minho would give in and
take the drink. But alas he did not. He sat there with his arms
comfortably placed around his nerd. He was content with this, he
didn't need the alcohol to enjoy his time with this father.

Minho turned when he felt Onew staring at him. Onew was smiling at him,
affection sparkling in his eyes. All Minho could do was smile back.

He smiled wider when Onew leaned over and placed a sweet kiss on his
temple, “I love you.” he murmured. Minho didn't let him get away,
he deepened the kiss for a quick second.

“Ya! Minho pay attention to my turn! Stop kissing my future brother!”
Donghae scolded them. The pair broke a part and laughed awkwardly as
everyone stared at them. His step-mother broke the silence with her
audible squeal of delight.

The night ended well, and everyone made it to their rooms. Even though
Onew offered to stay in the guest room Minho yanked his nerd up the
stairs and kind of threw him in to his room. There was no way he was
letting Onew sleep in a guest room when there was a perfectly good
place in his arms and in his bed. They slept peacefully, Minho felt
whole with his nerd in his arms, and he thought vaguely in the back
of his mind that yes, his mother would have loved Onew just like he
did.

He proposed to Onew in their school's library. He convinced Onew to
visit their old school again, walk in to the library with him and sit
with him at that same study desk just like they used to. It was the
desk he'd first asked Onew out at, and the desk they'd continued to
study at together when their relationship had formed. So when Onew
sat down innocently enough, Minho walked to his side of the desk, got
on one knee and asked his nerd, Lee Jinki, if he would do Minho the
great honor of marrying him.

They were married a year later at Minho's home.

Two years after they finally brought in to their home a beautiful baby girl.

Onew named her Yori because of the overwhelming trust he had in his
husband. A year after that they adopted a boy. Minho fought with Onew
on it, but eventually convinced him that Mal-Chin was the perfect
name for the little boy. After all he'd persisted until the end to
get Onew's heart. They had a family to raise, their love to hold them
together.

Onew mocked Minho, “You see? You got your cheesy ending with me. We're
getting a dog next week, we have a house and kids. Happy?” he said
it in a mean way. But his smile told Minho he didn't mean it. Minho
laughed and held his husband close. In the background he heard his
daughter complaining that her brother had taken her doll away again.
His son was crying for someone to pick him up. And he had his nerd
right there in his arms.

“I'm overjoyed.” he beamed.

“Daddy? How did you and Dada meet?” Minho looked up from his phone. His
little girl was smiling with a tooth missing. She had the biggest
eyes on the planet, her cheeks seemed to always have blush on them.

“I told you princess we met at school.” he smiled and continued to tap
at his phone. He was trying to organize schedule for work next week.
But the little girl was not satisfied with his answer.

“Yeah I know that, but like how did you meet meet him? Like what did you
guys say? Did you guys decided to have me after you guys met?” Yiro
was a curious child. She always needed to know in exact detail
everything about everything. Her parent's relationship included.
Minho sighed,

“It's a long story princess. Like reeeeaally long.” Minho emphasized. She
didn't seem phased. Just then the front door of he house opened and
he heard his husband stepping inside. Onew waltzed in to the kitchen,
a small boy trailing behind him. Said little boy giggled with
excitement and went running in to Minho's open arms. Onew
automatically leaned down and shared a quick kiss with Minho and
asked how his day went.

“Yiro wants to know how we met again.” he told his nerd. Onew laughed,
telling Yiro the same answer Minho had given her; it was a long
story, but they met in school. She began to pout.

“But I wanna know how you met met like really met!” she explained. Her
parents exchanged looks, and all that they'd been through flashed
through both their minds. How was she going to understand all of
that? Would she understand that Minho had a drinking problem when he
was younger? That he'd slept with too many people to count because of
his mother's death? Would she understand that Onew's parent's had
abandoned him, so he'd had trust issue and it had only gotten worse
when he'd been dumped by a douchebag millionaire?

Would she understand how Minho had persisted for about a year to get Onew
to finally love him?

Would she understand all that?

No, probably not.

So in unison they brought forth the best answer they could summon,

“We'll tell you when you're older.”

And that was that.
