I remember the day we felt an earthquake here in North Wales -we thought it was a lorry crashing into the stone wall outside our halls of residence!

Such a weird feeling. Glad you are okay!

Oh, I'm glad you commented! I was just wondering if earthquakes were often felt on your side of the pond! It was a somewhat strange feeling because we are so used to our weather "events" being either hurricanes or snow & ice that we just don't even think about earthquakes ... or at least, we didn't until today.

Thank you for the good wishes. There have been so many weather tragedies this year that it almost seemed unworthy of posting (I've thankfully not heard of any injuries or significant property damage), but it's just so unusual here that I hated to let it pass without any notice.

We really don't feel them frequently at all, and they are normally tiny so we don't notice them. We're in the middle of the ring of fire and the fault lines running through Europe in Italy. We don't get alot!

If we're going to get extreme weather here it's wind and rain.

It is sort of, but when you think of it on a world scale ... all the strange weather events over the last year or so, it's even more scary.
