Oooh, will you do a carrot cake for his birthday? :)
I swear, there is nothing in the world that can perk a person up more than a happy horse. And I always feel like, as awesome as all my past horses have been, there is something special about these OTTBs, don't you think?
How is Alex doing? You guys still doing the eventing thing? I think Sonic and I are going to follow in your footsteps on that one. :)
i'll probably just take him a bunch of carrots. he's not big on the sweet's. even though he swears he likes it if he sees me eating it even after he's spit out what i give him. retard horse. haha and yeah, OTTB's are special. i love plodding around on him bareback with his halter and people freaking out. 'OMG are you nuts!? That's a TB!' hehe
actually, Alex and i are taking a step back from competing. i was in blythewood for 6 months with my trainer and i just...well it wasn't a good experience. not to mention he's not exactly conformationally correct on the front end for jumping...and well, i just don't want to compete anymore. that might change in a few years but for right now, alex has learned what my western saddle is and we're just having fun now. =)
Happy New Year. Here's to a great year for both you and Sonic, indiviually and, more importantly, as a pair. *toasts* Who needs people, when really, horses are far more reliable? Sure, they might stomp your feet or dump you on the ground on occasion, but if you give them your heart, they'll give you theirs, and they'll never betray that trust.
Thank you! I really appreciate that. :) You are right, horses are a one-of-a-kind that way...I love dogs too, but the partnership you have with a horse differs from any other companion animal out there.
