Oh derp, this needs an explanation: Giriko took a piece of his chain and wrapped it around Henry's wrist. Apparently, this allows Giriko to know whether or not Henry is moving around or whatever. He will tug on it and if Henry doesn't respond to the tug, he will chop off Henry's hand. Ta-da! At least, that's what he threatened to do.
