Looking at the large picture of a blue eyed boy with oversized glasses on the front page of the newspaper - a boy who seemed awfully unhappy to be there, judging by the look on his face - Kaitoko pouted.
That little brat…‘tantei-kun’ indeed! And any moment now, Aoko would be showing up to try to use this to point out how Kid was bad, and really not worth being a fan of - it was bad enough that she’d caught a cold from having to swim from the boat after that creepy, little brat had seen through her, she didn’t want to have to deal with her best friends hatred for her alter ego right now…
On the bright side, at least Hakuba was still in France, so she didn’t have to deal with him.
Glaring at the picture, Kaitoko closed the newspaper with a snap, a twist of her wrist and some smoke giving it the appearance of vanishing. It was pure luck that she’d gotten away this time - she’d watched as Edogawa Conan laid out his deductions with that look in his eyes, and reacted instinctively, as she would have to a grown man - but how had it worked? Tantei-kun was 6, 7 at the most…he hadn’t even hit puberty yet! The idea of a girl left naked shouldn’t have shaken him up at all…
Nodding to herself, Kaitoko firmed her jaw, before smiling again, poker face back on - she would find out what the hell was up with Edogawa Conan - and next time they met, she would be the winner!
