Oh is it possible?

I've been rather quiet on LJ.  I can't believe I'm saying this but I feel like I've overdosed on fandoms related to Downton Abbey. Now don't get me wrong, I love reading spoilers and people's analysis of the episodes, but we are only 2 episodes in, and I'm riding on the high of being able to see each week's episode (knock on wood, I can keep doing ( Read more... )

Oh dear, you really mustn't feel guilty about not reading fanfic! I haven't read anything for a while now - partly to concentrate on writing (not that I've written a chapter for weeks now, only RPing) and partly due to my course starting/moving etc. But I agree I think a lot of people (myself included) find it hard to deal with new canon and respond to fanfiction as well, both as readers and writers. I'm finding S02!Mary hard to get to grips with actually as a writer, and I guess while I might read AU scenarios, I certainly don't want to read fic that tries to deal with the actual canon. Possibly because I disagree with just about everybody else's interpretations of M/M (and Mary in particular) this season! Ah well ( ... )

Thank you, I was thinking about you and a few others. I love FF when it's written so well and so many authors qualify for M/M, but the show is sending me on an emotional rollar coaster. Spoilers probably make it worse (but of course, I'm too addicted to ever give those up). I will read the analysis on LJ but thinking about FF is just too much for me now. What scares me is, I've never had this problem beforeThe only FF I have found I can manage is short fluffy pieces of Mary and Matthew happily married in the future. Those are like breaks for my mind ( ... )

But for now, watching the episodes and enjoying those longing looks DS and MD have PERFECTED, it's tough to read more FF where the writers are so good at capturing the mood of the show.

That's an interesting perspective...I never considered that. It's true that for months, all we had was S1 and spec and little teasers and glimpses of M/M, and now...we get them every week. :) I never considered that as a...deterrent for fanfic, but maybe it is!

(I CERTAINLY don't blame you for not reading as much...there's also...more fanfic now, so it's probably harder to keep up. I never feel like anyone should read fanfic they don't want to, so...I support you in this endeavor. :)

Hope I'll still see you around for show analysis, though. ;)

Glee is ok, I'm surprised I've only purchased one song for this season but at least Finn/Rachel and Will/Emma is not making me gag.HA! Really? They're BOTH making me gag. As in, I don't think it could be ANY MORE OBVIOUS that Cory Monteith haaaaaates Lea Michele. OMG, their scenes together are so brief and he ( ... )

It should make me read more but each scene with M/M is so high on the angst scale. We've not really made much crossroads in bringing them back. Technically they are drifting further apart now that mary is considering Richard. (With the exception of the train scene and Matthew asking Mary to look out for Isobel and Lavinia). I am curious to know about today's episode and what Mary knows. Also? It would be nice to see Matthew jealous of Carlisle. It can be subtle, he flinching when the man's name is brought up (maybe at dinner) and he jumps into the conversation changing the subject. (But now that I've said that, it won't happen ( ... )

I'd like to think we saw it A BIT (it was subtle, but when Mary introduced the two...Matthew's eyes flickered to hers for a moment, and then looked at her during dinner). I also think it's interesting he speaks in such general terms about it ("good news was imminent" "I want you to do the same"). Doesn't mention Carlisle explicitly -- I'm sure this is way overanalyzing, but maybe Matthew's saying "Hypothetically, I want you to move on." When Mary goes up to him and says "I am engaged to/going to accept Carlisle"...THEN it would be interesting to see his reaction.

(That is...if she EVER does. I'm not entirely sure she'd be able to do so. :( Oh, Mary...)

I guess we shouldn't be shocked they are living/sleeping together but not having sex because she didn't sleep with Stamos either and she was married to him.Shouldn't we? We at least saw her ( ... )

I've done that too and agree with you. But unfortunately for the average DA viewer, I don't think they are willing to go to such lengths to study DS's facial expressions like we are (for a variety of reasons for me). We need something less subtle as I'm tired of people expressing views Matthew has moved on. While the anti M/M will always look for the negative, I do remember a few news articles not quite sure where Matthew stood.

(GAH, it'd be like Matthew coming back from the war, and in the next scene, he's engaged to Mary. I mean...yay, but...HOW?! [Also: DA would NEVER DO THIS. :p ] )No we certainly would not (though Edith was kissing that married guy out of the blue actually but there was a little lead up). But Glee does do this. I remember so excited to ( ... )

Everyone is on tumblr I think.

CSI: Yes, Ted Danson is okay. The first episode was good. I even added a review to my Starring Greg episode guide.

Oh do you still do the Starring Greg thing? I need to go find that.

I've not used tumblr at all and I just...I've got so many social sites I'm keeping up with. I can follow someone on tumblr via RSS and that's worked fine. Are you on there?

No, I´m not really on tumblr. I´m just lurking in some fandoms to know what fans say about my favorite shows or to find pics or just for fun.

You can find my Greg Sanders episode guide here:
