At first it made me kinda nostalgic....now I just want it the hell out of my kitchen! I included pics, just to prove I'm not over reacting. lol Those of you who are local, and know the lay-out will probably understand my frustration better.

There's actually a couple of more subtle differences between the M16 and the M4.

You're correct that most of the differences exist in the upper, the barrel length and foreend assembly is the major one, the M4 being 4" shorter, but the M4 also has different feed ramps.

They're built on the same lowers but use slightly different LPKs, mainly varied around the sear and FCG based on variant. The buffer assembly and stock will also be different.

Check the follower springs on those USGI mags and if they're good give them a coat of rem oil and they'll store for quite some time without requiring a second look.

Vern was the one firing them for a living, I just go by what he told me, there was prolly some simplifying that happened. lol
