Social Status and Kindergarten

Yesterday I was informed that N had a difficult day at kindergarten.  There is a girl there, we'll call her V, they have been running hot and cold with each other all school year. They are either thick as thieves, or not speaking to each other.  They had been doing well ever since Christmas. All that fell apart yesterday.  They were talking about
