There were a number of options for the day 11 tagline, but Carmen hit it on the nail with the general screaming. See, today we actually went to the boardwalk. Yeah... Sam... you know what I'm talking about. ^_-
The day started out foggy, but by the time we decided to get up and head off to the Palomar the sun was peeking out behind the clouds. No pictures... no point really. :D We did a bit more shopping before hand... Carmen wanted to go back into Bead It (and I certainly walked out with a find in there. O_o) and I ended up buying the first three volumes of the Lucifer spinoff for Sandman.... But I digress...
We went to the boardwalk once the sun started heading down...We walked past the big whale again, but aborted the picture taking attempt due to people sitting on it's head...
The boardwalk has a pretty nice setup. Lots of little history bits mixed in with the crazy carnival all around.
Laughing Sally here has become nightmare fodder for Carmen.
And the interior of Neptune's... an arcade and mini golf thing that used to have a giant indoor saltwater pool. On the beach... Which seems kind of redundant, but neat.
After exploring a bit, we went on a few rides... The merry go round was first. I haven't been on one like this in a looong time, so it was cool. We were so far back in line that we didn't get an outside horse though. :/ (with the outside horses, you can grab these rings and try to throw them into a big clown things mouth. Naturally, the inner horses can't reach the rings, and even if they could they'd be hucking them at the back of the heads of the people on the outside...which probably isn't good for business.)
And the pirate ship ride... yanno. The big ship that rocks back and forth, giving you the butterflies in your stomach feeling. As my Dad knows, I was totally addicted to this thing at West Ed. Clara totally loved it.
We slowed things down for a bit with Bumpercars.
And I mean slow as in not flying all over the place. Carmen was ready to cause some damage...
And, naturally, the roller coaster.
Sorry about the lens flare. This is a photo of a photo here... Clara was sitting with some nice guy who laughed every time she yee-hawed.
I had to take off my glasses and my bandanna for it... so I was blind as a bat getting off the ride. The nice couple behind me pointed out that I needed to walk through one of those revolving gates. That's when I decided fishing my glasses out of my bag would be prudent. A guy behind me at the photo booth had lost his hat on the ride... right in the pictures. I'm amazed it got in a shot.
We followed the rides up with a bit more shopping (Taffy anyone? I'm bringing back a couple hundred bags... :D) and ice cream... then headed off. There's a good chance we'll go back tomorrow night for another roller coaster ride (oh please oh please) since it'll be our last night here on the beach.
On the way back, we spotted the whale with no one on it (well....it was ten at night...)
anyway... it's getting late. I'd better log off. Night!

PS: Ryan! Sunset time! It's a bit difficult, since the sun sets behind a pile of houses, but I think I got a nice shot. :D
