I just caught up with this, and wow! Great characterizations. That the hospital, and being laid out is reminding Dean of hell is very believable. And hovering!Sam is ADORABLE and kind of terrifying in turns, which is perfect.

I'm glad you think it's believable. I am not nearly as heroic as Dean is, but the idea of being tortured for 30 years and then having someone even mention the word scalpel... The sheer amount of images his mind would be flooded with. Yeesh.

Season 4 Sammy is a hard mix for me. I may have said this already. How much anger he has in him versus keeping him the likable guy we sympathize with, etc..

You DO spoil us! And I can't get enough of this! Thank you for taking your time with this - I'm enjoying every moment!! Although poor Dean isn't... again, great insight into his PTSD - I'm thinking whatever supernatural thing is causing this is doing it to deliberately tweak his Hell memories. As always, I'll be on the lookout for more...
I'm loving the staff at the hospital - though I am missing Dr. Leprechaun from the clinic... I love that line "small hands..."
The description of them putting a glass tube in his throat in hell - just gah!

I just got caught up with this and I'm enjoying it very much. You've done a great job with the characterization of both boys and their relationship.

Poor Dean, I feel so bad for him having to chose which medical procedure scares him less. And Sam is great, stubborn but supportive.

Your medical descriptions and your descriptions of what Dean feels like sound terribly realistic. Experience? Because this is physically painful to read!

You insert the Hell flashbacks very effectively. And I adored the telepathic conversation at the end.

I don't usually comment after each chapter on a WIP. But I just have to say how much I am loving this and waiting breathlessly (like Dean, ha) for the next instalment!

No experience with this particular medical issue, thank goodness. If you read a fic about head pain from me, those are the ones I put more of myself into.
