Teapot Cafe

I've decided to make a rating system for the food stuff I post, mostly so I can look back quickly and see at a glance if I liked the place. Don't worry, there's only 3 stars on it! XD

So from worst to best, here it goes:

-3/3 stars: confirmed food poisoning, more than once. Maybe I just got 'lucky', but you'd want to know, right? Especially since I only write this up if I got food poisoning *more* than one time.

-2/3 stars: The food's burnt, rotten or otherwise not edible

-1/3 star: Food is either tasteless or oversalted or maybe just hard as a brick, but at least it's edible (mostly, anyway).

0/3 stars: Edible food, has some taste, I won't complain if we eat here again.

1/3 star: I like the food and would come back.

2/3 stars: I like the food, and dare to bring my mom and bro to eat here (they're pickier than I am!)

3/3: We **have** to eat here if we're in the area.

5/3 stars: I would brave a one-hour jam to eat here. I hate jams, so definitely extra stars if you can make me do that!

aaannnnd the best grade:

7/3 stars: You need to be as good as or even better than the Restaurant at the End of the Universe to get this grade. Oh, and it helps if it costs 1 cent or less too! What do you mean you don't know who Douglas Adams is? This 9-grade, 3-star grading system is in the spirit of his 5.5-book trilogy XD;

And now, on to the food!

...I have GOT to remember to take photos of the outside of the place next time. This one actually has a pretty difficult-to-read signboard, the exterior is green.

Anyways, this place was introduced by rh11, I had lunch here together with rh11 and another friend (we'll just call her LS, until I stumble across her blog/figure out what she wants to be called online XD )

Here's the interior:

The theme of the place is, well, teapots XD; They're on the walls, on the floor, big ones on shelves along the wall, small ones in a display near the back, tiny ones in lightboxes on the wall, in pictures and cross stitch, mosaic and so on.

We came in for lunch; I had a bunch of random things instead of eating a proper meal XD;

This is garlic mushroom. The mushroom is pretty awesome, the salad is pretty good too.

This is the omelette. Actually I don't really like it, but that's mostly because everything else is tastier. It didn't seem to have enough "liao" other than egg. Still, it does taste pretty good, maybe if I was just eating this by itself rather than with everything else I would like it more.

Chicken pie. I ate this after it'd gone cold so it wasn't at its best, but even then, you can still taste the awesomeness of the gravy and stuff. It's pretty small, though!

By now you're wondering how many things I ate!! This isn't mine, it's rh11's lunch, but LS gave me a bite. It's pretty good, moist and tasty even without the gravy. I'm not sure why it photographs with so much black, it definitely didn't taste burnt at all.

Of course, we can't leave without having dessert! I had two, and a cup of coffee.

Peach crumble with custard sauce. The custard goes really well with the tangy peach, I like it.

And we split all the macarons so we all got a bite. I really wanted to try the peanut, but honestly, the two best flavours are the chocolate (very chocolatey!) and green one (it was a nut flavour, pistachio?). Still, the other three flavours are pretty good as well, I'd just eat any of them if the chocolate or the green ones were sold out.

And finally, coffee:

It's thick and good. A nice ending to a lovely lunch.

Summary
Location: 169 Jalan SS 2/24, 47300 Petaling Jaya, Taman Sea, Malaysia
Halal? I forgot to check ^^;
Price range: RM30++ for just a main course + drink, sweets and coffee would bump it up to RM50++ and there's pricier stuff on the menu.
I want to eat: The garlic mushroom thing (I like garlic and mushroom) and the macarons. Also the chicken thing, if I'm hungry.
I don't want to eat: the omelette, I guess?
star rating: 2/3
