Smokehouse @ Bangsar

Oct 24, 2011 22:24

Met up with some friends for tea time at Smokehouse since rh11 found some cool coupons for us to use. I wasn't really in shutterbug mode, so this will be a short post.

I had french onion soup as well as part of the tea set:

Soup is pretty good. Not a big fan of the butter or the bread, but I don't like them to begin with, ymmv.

And the twins both had mushroom carbonara pasta:

It's not too bad, it's not heavily creamy or cheesy, so if you like your pasta on the lighter side, this will be nice.

And finally, the tea set:

Everything on it is pretty good, or at least tasty. The scones don't taste all that good by themselves, but they do taste good with the cream. The cream itself isn't anything to write home about, it kind of tastes rather like the stuff from a can ^^; -- but it goes very well with the scones. rh11 preferred hers with the jam. Of course I didn't touch the butter.

As for the rest, the cakes are all moist and delicious, they almost melt in your mouth. I particularly like the chocolate cake, and the apple pie is pretty good as well.

The coffee is pretty all right too. Nothing phenomenal, but not bad either.

All in all, it's a pretty decent place to have lunch/tea.
