yeah differin really worked well for me except for when I would forget to use it and then I started to use it again I would break out horribly at first and I am just stupidly forgetful a lot
My friend and I both use Mary Kay's classic line, formula three. As far as I can tell, it's virtually the same thing as proactiv (Cleanser-Toner-Lotion) It doesn't have the benzoyl Peroxide in the cleanser, but they have it in the acne spot treatment stuff, but the MK cleanser has glycol (the stuff that's supposed to help in the proactiv toner) The MK toner has salicylic acid and glycol. (The MK toner's not alcohol free though, so if that's a big thing for you...) It works great for me except for allergy breakouts (like when I'm in San Antonio and around my cat...which technically I shouldn't have because I'm allergic to him...) and the spot stuff usually fixes that. They've also got a day and night solution which faded my acne scars after like 6 weeks. I could be biased tho, since my mom sells the stuff. You should ask my friend janey what she thinks, since she uses it and doesn't have the family connection.
oh, one thing I forgot to mention, I discovered that even oil-free liquid foundations break me out (which is fine, since most of them are too dark for my pasty face anyway.) and when I started using a powder foundation a couple years ago, I cleared up a LOT. I dunno what you use, but I thought I'd share

I use prescription Differin and it works for me... when I remember to use it, that is.
