I'm not sure why you're apologizing because this story is so poetic. Making the theme about princes and princesses was a nice touch. It really brings out the relations between the Philippines and America.

Though the only thing I was a bit confused about was the part where Japan saved the Philippines. That really had me puzzled since Japan invaded the Philippines and didn't exactly treat the people there all too nicely.

However other than that, it's a really beautiful story. :)

Spain had ‘raised’ her, you had ‘loved’ her, and Japan had ‘saved’ her...
...those words are in quotes because they're supposed to be sarcastic in tone. Spain thought they were taking us under their wing when they conquered us, America thought they were showing love in the form of 'benevolent assimilation', and Japan thought they were 'saving' the Philippines from the 'white devils', and we all know they did more harm than good, most of the time, so...yeah, that's where those words came from?
