Long shot: missing glasses, anyone?

This applies to hardly any of you, but I've asked everyone I can think of, and have obviously missed the crucial person, so...

Have you:
  • Been in my car in the last few months?
  • Lost a pair of glasses in approximately the same timescale?

The glasses in question have squished nose bits, so they might have been there for ages (but no longer than a year ( Read more... )

Photo of glasses would help if the owner doesn't actually read this entry.

They're glasses. I've seen them, they look like glasses. I really don't think that I'd be able to identify the owner from the appearance of their glasses. Could anyone?

Apparently it's much more complicated than that - I showed them to the boy next door this morning, and he was horrified that I thought they might be his ;-)

Could anyone?

Yes. (Though not with 100% reliability and it would depend on me having seen the owner wearing them.)

Not being a glasses-wearer, I don't understand how they work. mkononi January 29 2008, 10:59:34 UTC
I'd have thought it was pretty self explanatory ;)

I don't have any useful comment to make, but I'm amazed you seem to think one set of glasses is indistinguishable from another. Truly astounding!

are you confusing me and secretrebel for comedic purposes? Cos it was her who said that*, not me. Admittedly I made no attempt to describe them until asked to do so, but I figured there aren't many people who've both lost a pair of glasses and been in my car (actually, experience so far suggests that there are precisely zero such people, which is rather confusing ;-)

*And actually, she didn't quite say that, just that she couldn't match the glasses with the glasses-wearer. Although maybe she can't distinguish between different pairs of glasses. Perhaps we should get onebyone to perform experiments on her to find out.

Ummm, yes, deliberate confusion there.
