I say ENJOY the wanderlust and the opportunities that come your way to travel. If you want a mortgage, there's always time for one later. Enjoy the freedom that you are experiencing right now. Mortgages and financial responsibilities are um, overrated.
Personally, I get frustrated being asked when I plan on having children, having the conversation about how old I am and then doing the math on how much longer I may have to have my own kid. Many people don't understand that despite my having a husband, a house, a respectable job and a mortgage, that I still have greater goals. To a lot of people, I'm "done." I'm so not DONE. I am so happy to be following my dreams. So many people don't. So anyway, I just wanted to say ENJOY YOURSELF!
It's weird, now that "when I grow up" is sort of here and nowhere. There was always this nebulous future where 100 things were simultaneously possible. Now I find we have to choose among them. There are plenty of things I wish were different in my life, and some I wouldn't change for the world. Be that as it may, some of the ones I wouldn't change make it impossible for me to do the things you get to do, and I envy you pretty heavily sometimes. I keep thinking that if only x or y were different, I really could have my cake and eat it too... and that's actually largely true, but at the end, I'd still have to choose some things over others, wouldn't I? It's weird, to be in that nebulous future, and find that the focus isn't so soft after all.
You're definitely one thing I wouldn't change. Well, except for, I would for sure change the frequency with which I see you. That, I would LOVE to change.
