In like 2005 and who knows what the hell they'll do with it between now and then. But at least I have a potential miracle/train wreck to focus on for years to come! Woo-hoo!
I don't think having McCoy back would be the same without Ace and Sophie Aldred is probably too old for the part now. I'd would have loved to see more of them working together though.
The Doctor should have straight hair since we've only had 3 of them (1st, 2nd, 5th). Probably a little older as well, maybe late 40s or early 50s. The companion should be a ditzy, young, British babe. It's a proven formula. :)
It's something to keep an eye on, but Who knows (get it?) what could happen between now and 2005.
Rich, before you rush out to get the Temple of EE, read a few reviews. So far I like it but it's very different from the previous Realms games. Much more like a regular PnP game than a computer RPG.
The formula is sound allright. Though you need a young male lead to keep the ladies from their knitting while the young lady brings the Dad's in from the garden. :)
I should probably bone up on my Dr. Who. I've seen isolated episodes, and thought the concept was very interesting, but never became a "Who Geek." Is there a middle ground between eating, sleeping and breathing Dr. Who and ignoring it completely?
My only comment on a new series of episodes is that I hope they don't high-tech it and use a lot of good, George Lucas-type special effects. Part of the charm of the show, for me, was that it was cheesy-looking. Somehow, that indicated they weren't taking themselves all that seriously, and it was meant to be fun, and they also made it work. Too often lately, sci-fi is nothing more than a showcase for Industrial Light and Magic's newest toys.

Not that I've found. ;) Seriously though it is quite possible to just like the show. Of course as I now have to introctrinate you into the show, I may not be able to stop there. I've got an extensive collection and know which episodes to try out on those not familiar to the show. if you like those, I throw open the doors to the vault. If you don't like those, I move on. Next time I see you, I'll lend you a tape or two.
As for the effects, I absolutely agree, though I know from behind-the-scenes books that they worked pretty hard to make those effects sometimes. Its just the age old problem of money and time and having to go with what you've got. I'm not worried about it getting too jazzed up. It is a BBC show after all. How much money could they possibly throw at it?
I loved the Dr. Who special eftects. Like that one-eyed alien what was just some guy in a GIANT paper mache head with a painted eye on it. He tried to sound like a badass by shouting menacingly, but the British accent and the echo (his head was, after all, in a GIANT paper mache alien head) really made it funny.

Peter Woodward would be an interesting Dr. Who.
And Angelina Joile as his sidekick. :)
Mmm. Tasty.
