I've been wanting to try a non-electric razor for a while but I'm going to spend money on something I might only use once. Yesterday I got a Gellette (sp?) Fusion in the mail. For free. Spiffy. I tried it out today and damn..how do you people do it? I had to go back three sperate times to get areas I missed. And I could play connect the dots with ( Read more... )

Coincidentally enough, just last month, I switched from using an electric razor to using a hand razor, and I, too, am using the Gillette Fusion.

Yes, the first time I used it, my whole throat was marred with spots of blood that would have made a cheetah jealous.

The second time, the same.

After a few shaves, though, your skin and your facial hair gets used to it. After a couple of weeks, I now get a closer shave and a quicker shave than I was getting with my electric. It's totally worth putting up with the initial discomfort if you can stick it out.

But I like my buzz buddy. I think the biggest problem I have with a hand razor is the scent the gel/cream leaves on my face. It smells good for the first three hours but after that is gets annoying. Plus, it reminds me of that horrible taste I get whenever I lick someone after they have shaved XP not good.
