Dear MCU AU Fest Author
Hello, and thank you for offering to write for one of my pairings!
When it comes to fic, I'm easy to please. I do have general likes and dislikes, naturally, but I love reading a broad variety of themes and genres. I would be happy reading anything from plotty gen to scorching smut (or a combination of those!).
Likes include: Morally grey or conflicted characters; worldbuilding; complex or difficult relationships; UST; enemies-turned-lovers; relationships between women; loving descriptions of scenery, magic systems, or technology (depending on the AU); and if you want to write smut, here is a handy list of my kinks, courtesy of Yuleporn.
Dislikes: Fluff; crackfic; issuefic; graphic depictions of non-con or animal cruelty.
As for pairing-specific requests! Keep in mind that all of these are just ideas, and I would be equally interested in something totally different.
Loki/Natasha
Homestuck fusion - Just throwing ideas out there-the two of them playing Sburb (perhaps with the rest of the Avengers/whatever villains you please), maybe with lots of emphasis on game mechanics and doomed timelines and the like! I'm a huge sucker for anything going into the details of the Game, and I'd love to see how Natasha and Loki both work within its rules and change it. It can be anything from in-depth analysis to the two of them going god tier and having awesome battles (literal or otherwise). It would be interesting to have Loki be the big bad of Natasha's session, maybe? Get as twisty as you like with it!
Alternately, an everyone-is-trolls AU. I'd kill to see laughsassin!Natasha and megalomaniacal mutant!Loki throwing down (or whatever combo of caste and powers you want-that's just the first thing I thought of), or maybe Natasha as a converted follower of the Signless and Loki as an enemy in some way? There are tons of directions to take this. Intrigue and violence is basically what I'm looking for!
Kushiel's Legacy fusion - I'm so into the idea of spy-courtesan Natasha, and basically anywhere you go with that will please me! What I love about the Kushiel canon is its combination of court politics, ethical hedonism (maybe not so ethical with Loki involved), and of course, the various sorting systems! You could have it be plotty, you could have it be porn, you could have Natasha and Loki as competing Night Court adepts, you could have it be all of these and more! Like I said: pretty much anything will please me here.
Noir - I love the noir atmosphere-cigarettes and mood lighting and elegant clothing, and of course, murder most foul. My preferences for this prompt are so broad it's hard to even pinpoint prompts; basically, the tropes of any noir movie-detectives! Femme fatales! Criminals, grime, cityscapes, the dark underside of small-town suburbia. Again, what I like for these two is intrigue and competitions of the mind. Other than that, I'm hardly picky.
Peggy/Natasha
Cyberpunk - Things I like about cyberpunk: using technology to foment rebellion, cybernetics and biotech, the idea of information as currency, trying to overthrow the government/corporations/robot overlords. I could see Peggy as the head of a resistance cell and Natasha as a corporate spy turned double agent, or even one of them as an AI existing solely within cyberspace (I adore human/AI romances, if you want to go this direction). I just really, really love a cyberpunk setting.
Noir - I'd say see my Loki/Natasha prompt for this, but I figure it's safer to repeat myself! I love the noir atmosphere-cigarettes and mood lighting and elegant clothing, and of course, murder most foul. My preferences for this are so broad it's hard to even pinpoint prompts; basically, the tropes of any noir movie-detectives! Femme fatales! Criminals, grime, cityscapes, the dark underside of small-town suburbia! For Peggy/Natasha, I like star-crossed romance, people from different sides of the law falling in love, enemies-turned-lovers working together, intrigue, subterfuge…all that good stuff.
Winter Soldier Has Different Identity - I'd be interested in seeing either Peggy or Natasha as the Winter Soldier for this one. (Spoilers for CA:TWA ahead!) I'd love to see WS!Peggy and Natasha meeting the same way she and Bucky did, except maybe with more obsession on either person's part, or perhaps a take on Natasha's comic backstory, with her and WS!Peggy both working for the Russian government or HYDRA or the villainous institution of your decision. Or WS!Natasha and Peggy playing cat-and-mouse throughout the decades; Cold War spy shenanigans could be great. Obviously, there are tons of ways to go about this, so have fun!
Pepper/Natasha
Cyberpunk - I'm just going to copy my Things I Love About Cyberpunk section from above: using technology to foment rebellion, cybernetics and biotech, the idea of information as currency, trying to overthrow the government/corporations/robot overlords. In the case of Pepper/Natasha, I think it would be really cool to see Pepper as a member of the elite class-maybe even something similar to her role in canon-and Natasha as an agent sent to spy on her (again, like canon). Or maybe Pepper is a fully-autonomous AI who Natasha encounters in cyberspace. (This is where I mention my love for AI/human romance again.) Anything you want!
Kushiel's Legacy fusion - I almost feel bad about repeating prompts so much, but hey, I have my heart set on these few AUs! For this one, I'm basically in it for the costume porn and D'Angeline hedonism. I'd love to see Natasha and Pepper as aristocracy, playing the game of thrones, or one or both of them in the Night Court (Pepper as Natasha's favorite patron could be amazing). Or, again, spy-courtesan Natasha! This is my favorite book series and I love the setting, so anything you write will be wonderful.
Supervillains - Pepper Potts has a secret. Mostly, I think this would be an excellent way to write dark!Pepper-though while retaining her personality; think lawful evil as opposed to chaotic megalomaniac (we have Loki for that)-and it would be interesting to see how Natasha, knowing what she does about being on the wrong side of the moral divide, would handle it. This could be a relatively canon-compliant AU, where she goes evil somewhere during the Iron Man movies (using Extremis could be really cool!), or one where she's been a supervillain for much longer than that.
