Yuletide 2015
Dear Yuletide author,
Hello, and thank you for writing for me! Can I just say that you have excellent taste in fandoms?
Before I get into details, I'll talk a bit about general likes and dislikes. I am a simple creature and I enjoy all sorts of genres and themes!
Things I like: Morally grey or conflicted/troubled characters, femslash, complicated and intense relationships, backstories, worldbuilding and exploration of other cultures and societies, hurt/comfort, action, and smut.
Things I'm not crazy about: fluff, pregnancy, mundane AUs (think coffeeshop, high school, etc.), violent M/f non-con, Very Special Episode-style fic.
I'm also participating in Yuleporn and Crueltide! Don't feel obligated to write either of these if you don't want to, of course; like I said, I will be happy with absolutely anything you write. I'm going to give some general tropes I like for these challenges, and have fandom-specific prompts too.
Yuleporn: I dig D/s, bondage, exhibitionism, BDSM AUs, aphrodisiacs, mind control, and pretty much any kind of power play you can think of (including dub-con and manipulation). I really like A/B/O and similar themes, but I kink on the heat cycles and neediness, not the pregnancy/breeding. (I also like worldbuilding in my A/B/O and BDSM AUs, because I am indeed That Person.) The only kinks I straight-up dislike are bodily fluids other than blood and sexual fluids.
Crueltide: Possession (whether by demons, spirits, higher-level beings), post-apocalypse AU, body horror/mutation, cosmic horror, POV of violent or evil characters, psychological breakdowns, and any kind of psychological or supernatural horror. My only real DNWs are animal cruelty and graphic non-con.
Now, onto specific fandoms!
Control - Halsey
This song is tense, menacing, and full of raw emotion. I like stories of women with extraordinary powers and their difficulty handling them; exploring the balance between success and catastrophic failure is fascinating to me. I have questions more than I have prompts: Is she possessed? Is she a demon herself? Whose children is she scaring, or is that a metaphor? The initial lines also make me think of some kind of magical or futuristic bounty hunter/treasure seeker. I'd be into a sci-fi interpretation of this, too.

I really enjoyed the horror-comedy vibe to this book, and the wink at the similarity between working retail and hellish prisons. I also really like Amy and Basil's relationship, and the way two very different people managed to work together and become friends. (I'd totally dig shipfic if you're into that.)
I tried to come up with a variety of prompts, but honestly, I mostly want AMY AND BASIL TAKE ON PLANET BABY in any and all permutations! Some general ideas:
Kim Kardashian: Hollywood
Player Character, Willow Pape
This game is so hilarious and delightful to play. I love the glamor and how everyone is so fame-hungry; it's kind of like all my favorite movies and books about ridiculous, badly-behaved rich people, but interactive! I am also super into the rivalry between the PC and Willow; this kind of one-upmanship is serious shipping fodder!
Serial Killer - Lana Del Rey
This song is sultry, dangerous, and just a little unhinged. I love it. I keep getting this mental image of a noir siren or maybe a washed-up celebrity picking up men from bars and doing terrible things to them. Adding in another woman to either keep the main character company or be her lover is great. Feel free to blend it with Kinda Outta Luck, aka Lana's other, more cheery song about murdering men.

This series is so lush, atmospheric, and frankly horrifying. I absolutely adore the writing and worldbuilding, and I will be pleased with anything that is faithful to the tone and theme of the novels. Also, when I say any, I mean any; write me a story about Grace, about the Crawler, about Whitby's mouse if that's what moves you.

- How does the Beehive use the creepy baby supplies to its advantage?
