Decided to post online recipes I like to my (permanent) journal for my own reference.
Loved this soup! It's fast, easy and CHEAP. Husband did not like it so I ended up eating it for the next 3 days. The way I grew up, you ate leftovers till they were GONE. I'm starting to realize that is not the case with many families. My (Chinese) SiL is no joke

I've been doing a Sino-Japanese version for a while, because I wasn't cooking enough at a time to make the full-on hakusai roll effort worthwhile. (Soy sauce, ginger, garlic, ground meat, onions, napa cabbage, green onions and "regular" onions...)
I'm a leftover...enthusiast...too. My mom's best friend is married to a man who hates leftovers (they're all Japanese). She boggles all the time. (It's been 30 years and more since they became close, and my mother *still* says, "$name-san's husband hates leftovers. So strange!"
